Well Folks,
Right on the heels of AR5, comes the newest offer from one of our favourite reality shows. There is a two hour series opener tonight.
Lets meet here on an regular basis and discuss!

I'm ready for the action. I hope there is annoying contestants to root against, heartwarming pairs you just have to root for, and a fair amount of eye candy.

Well I'm a 45 minutes into this show and I really want the models too lose. From the time they said they had travelled extensively and knew the "nuances" of the airport. So funny to see them try and get information about their flight from the Air Canada desk, and the woman told them they "fly to Canada" that was great.

I can't believe the sisters went an hour and a half out of their way to find the waterfall, althought the guy that told them to turn around with hand signals was kinda sneeky, but hey it's a race and I would have done the same thing.

Yea, im listening in the background. I really hope that dude wearing the yellow gets eliminated. It looked like there was a chance when he was like 3rd to last, but i dont know where they are now. This is my 3rd or 4th straight season watching it, awesome show.

I have so much hate for that guy in the yellow. What an ass.

OMFG Gas in a diesel again. I t sayd diesel on the dashboard for christ sakes. Does this happen every show?

Diesoline, what the hell was that? Is that why they put gas in a diesel? I missed it.

A couple of things: that blue haired guy (Jonathan) is an ass - I hate him already.
Iceland looks awesome and now it's on my list of must visit places. And finally, Jonathan is an ass.

This is my second season of it. I've always wanted to watch the show but never could remember to watch it until last season about half way through when that little midget made me want to kick her in the neck. Don't have anybody I really want to lose badly yet although I'm starting to dislike that muscle bound lady.

Oh and Hera is freakin hot. I hope they are on the show for a while so I can drool over her. Mmmm mmmm hells yeah.

Interesting that there are no gay (at least openly) contestents again. I guess Chip and Richen were the be-all end-all of the gay racers..

Also If I remember correctly, I dont think there has ever been any asian or middle-eastern contestants.

i watched half an episode of the current amazing race tonight but didnt seem to get the point. were these people trying to race to some destination? can the fans of this show tell me what they like most about the show?

When the annoying yellow shirt guy was standing in the boat even when his wife was telling him to sit down - who else was praying he would fall overboard? That woulda been hillarious!

I also howled with laughter about the airport nuances scene with the models.


Cyn, those are amazing pictures, were you actually there when they filmed? Or just been to many of the same spots?

Right you are, I changed the thread title. I got the numbers messed up.

Gorgeous scenery in Iceland! I agree Jonathan's an ass...she may be a bigger one for being with him. I wonder about the father/daughter team. He doesn't seem to know he's in a race. And I did find it a bit funny that the wrestler's look totally fit, but he had trouble running and keeping up. Next week's looks very interesting...can't wait.

I thought it was hilarious when "yellow shirt" wouldn't sit down when his wife said he should, and after he refused the boat "captain" told him to sit down. (I dislike this team.)

At this point the wrestlers are a funny annoying. They give each other crap, but it is equal. Plus, judging from their ice wrestling, they seem to be a fun couple. (I like them, at this point - the bickering could get old.)

And am I the only one who thinks this version should be alternately titled "Amazing Race 36C?" The cleavage was spilling out everywhere. (I like all of the cleavage teams, so sue me.)

Basically it's a race around the world. They race from country to country doing different little tasks and what not and the winner gets a bunch of money. It's pretty fun once you get into it and pick out your favorites and the people you cheer to fail badly. It's an interesting view in human psychology about how people will back stab lie cheat and do every underhanded thing to win but will get beaten by the nice guys. Or how the underdogs will pull off an upset at something.

If I HAD to go out an travel and see the world that would be how I would want to do it. In a nice little globe trotting race.

OK. I've been debating if I should bring this up, but I just wonder why some of the contestants don't get into shape before entering this contest. It's quite clear from earlier episodes that the race is going to be very strenuous, so why not make an effort to get into reasonable shape? Also, why not take the time to learn the basics of most major languages (Spanish, French, etc)? Reading a map, learning directions, how to drive a stick, and basic geography should also be high on anyone's list of prerequisites before applying for entry.

Just nitpicking....

I can see your point ananas, but then the show might not be as interesting.? dunno

30 minutes in and I'm still hating Jonathan

Jonathan is more than irritating. Good show...emotions are running a little higher. The best friends truly had it rough this week.

I really want to see Jonathan's wife smack him in the face, I kind of think it might happen, she's getting pretty pissed

I hope someone beats the shit out of Jonathan. Hes just such an ass, "oh im the best, apologize to me now!" He seems to be kinda abusive too. Anyway, i was laughing like crazy when they were trying to ski down the path. Then started raining, im sure that helped.

I swear I also heard him say, "I'm so proud of myself" never once telling her she's doing a great job. He is undeniably an ASS.

Can't Jonathan just fall off a cliff or something? Please? Can we arrange this?

I was so worried when the sisters made the wrong turn that they would be eliminated (see my previous cleavage comments.)

Did anyone notice in the previews that it appeared as though next week Jonathan makes a partial motion to hit his wife while they are in the backseat of the car. It was very subtle, but it looked like he made a small motion to elbow her in the face. I am hoping for a food competition that would cause an allergic reaction for Jonathan.

Bones I did notice that...which I gotta say looked liked he caught himself realizing what he was about to do.

I'm a bit late commenting as I just saw the episode finally late last night.

I am so glad the hot sisters weren't eliminated. They were doing pretty good all episode untill that one mistake.

I thought the boat race was hillarious, watching the extreme disfunctionality of the 'idiots' boat.

I like the sisters I hope they do well. I see them going pretty far if not al the way.

You could hit Victoria in the face....the Botox would pad the blow.

But seriously, I bet the producers were very happy to see the less attractive teams lose early....all they need is for the Dad and Daughter to go away and they will have a race of supermodels left.

I think the daughter is stunning. her eyes are just beautiful.
