Will Pee-Wee Herman make a comeback???

Hello all you tilted peeps out there. I loved watching Pee-Wee's Playhouse when I was young. Damn good show. And a low budget one. Not many low budget shows can get 22 Emmy awards. AWARDS. Not nominations but awards.

From what I hear, he is interested in doing a follow-up on his last movie. I actually think this isn't a good idea. If you re-released one of his first 2 movies in theaters then it'd bomb. That kind of movie might have worked back then but not these days. I think he should do maybe a small season of Pee-Wee's playhouse and release it all at once and see what happens. If ppl like it then he can do a regular season and then maybe another movie.

I wish Pee-Wee would come back. Only thing is Captain Carl is dead. Phil Hartman played him. I liked Captain Carl. Anyone out there look like Phil Hartman that could be a replacment? Laurence Fishburne was Cowboy Curtis. I wonder if he'd be interested in doing his role again.

So would you watch another Pee-Wee Herman movie? What if he revived Pee-Wee's Playhouse? Would you et your kids (if you have any) see it? I'd watch Pee-Wee again if he was in another movie or tv show.

P.S.: Here's a wacy fact that I didn't know about until just now: Did you know that Rob Zombie was the production assistant? Yes THAT Rob Zombie.

P.P.S.: I just realized that S. Epatha Merkersen plays Reba the Mail Lady. She now plays Lt. Anita Van Buren on Law & Order (love all L&O's and CSI's). I wonder if she'd be willing to play her role again too.

P.P.P.S.: Don't forget to buy his 3 new DVD's. He's got the 2 seasons and his Christmas Special. I have the HBO one on VHS. Cool stuff. Buy 'em HERE!!!

I'd love to see another Pee-Wee Herman movie. Man that would rock!

I doubt many kids these days would know who Pee-Wee was or know anything about his show. Basically, all they'd probably know is that he got caught masturbating in a porno theater. So I doubt it'd be revived.

Uh, yeah, I'm one of those people. His show was the 80s, right? I wasn't really watching much TV when I was that age. Maybe Winnie the Pooh.

I wasn't so crazy about his movise, but the Playhouse was classic and should live forever.

darens42 11-15-2004 07:37 PM

anything could be a hit if they did it right - the public would accept him back... i know i would

As long as Pee-Wee stays away from childrens shows, he could make a comeback. I think that someone should give him a chance to prove himself with either a leading role or big supporting role in a movie. Just don't give him a scene in a movie theater.

I'd love to see him make a second movie (I've disowned Big-Top Pee-Wee as a movie).

Imagine if Tim Burton would get in on it too! That would be too good to be true.

When I was in University we used to get up Saturday mornings just to watch Pee Wee... I loved that show.

I have a copy of his Christmas special (with Charo, Whoopie Goldberg, Frankie and Annette, kd lang, Little Richard, Zsa Zsa Gabor and many others). I make my kids watch it every Christmas... they think I'm a loon.

I don't think the networks would touch it, but if he released it on dvd I'd buy it. Who cares if he watches porn. It's better than being a catholic priest.

Hey! Wait a minute.... Are you telling us that Pee Wee isn't a priest?

I was a major fan of Pee-Wee's Playhouse as a kid. And his Big Adventure. It's been a while since I've seen the Big top, so I can't really comment on that. My father and one of his friends saw Paul Rueben doing standup back when "Pee-Wee" was just small part of his act. Dad says he was absolutely hilarious. Now that's something I'd love to see.

I love Pee Wee! I love his movies, I loved his show! I hope he comes back big. :)

I was THE biggest Pee-wee fan when the show was airing new. One of my friends used to always try to sleep over on Friday nights because his dad wouldn't let him watch, for some asshole reason or another. Also, the show ran for a year or two on Fox Family back around 2000 or so, so I wouldn't count on the younger generation being entirely ignorant about our favorite lipstick-wearing dork. :D

The ad for the DVDs came as a surprise, since I never heard anything about them being released until the actual day they were in stores. Definitely getting them. I also see from the website mentioned on the ad (www.peewee.com) that he's making an appearance on the 11/18 Conan O'Brien show. That'd probably be a good place to hear any comeback news.

I thought he did just fine as a serious actor in BLOW. I'm kind of surprised I haven't seen him in anything since. I thought that WAS the beginning of his comeback.

a couple of years ago, the time of blow, pee wee said he wanted to make two more pee wee movies, one a children's and one a bit more grown up. i love pee wee's big adventure and have avoided big top pee wee all my life.
i would like to see pee wee stumble on to a presidential election voting fraud. or perhaps he could be in the big city in the next film and have to deal with roaches and loud neighbors who spray paint things. but what possibly made his legendary adventure so great was that it was a road movie and we got to meet lots of different characters in dif places. pee wee in baghdad??

sadistikdreams 11-18-2004 10:27 PM

I heard he is making a major comeback. Oh boy, the 18th is TONIGHT.

quadro2000 11-19-2004 08:16 AM

I think it's a great idea and I'd love to see the movie, but only if it was more in the Tim Burton vein than the Big Top one.
