Nah. NBC Censors wouldn't let it slip if it would garner them a fine. I think TV is just becoming more and more lenient. Remember when you couldn't say bitch or ass on TV? Wasn't long ago...

I'm through with that program. They got rid of the gorgious girl who was the only one who recommended a sensible campaign and the rest mutinied.

I felt she deserved to get fired. She did have a sensible campaign idea (with the help of Kevin), and did say that she was going to stick with it no matter what, but when it came time to be firm, she was not. On a side note, that was the best firing ever. It was so out of the blue that I just could believe it. Awesome.

I thought the general consensus was that the FCC was clamping down on the networks now?

After Nipplegate that is..

You're kidding, right?

The girl was incompetent and shouldn't have even been in the running for this job IMO. What is the number one rule,,,, give the customer what he wants. They were very specific in asking for an emotion driven campaign. Give them that. No.1 priority. Don't argue or try to talk them out of it. You don't know, maybe they gave the 'flash, bang' campaign to another agency. She never even seemed to grasp the first and only instruction. Even when it was over she kept saying it was a good campaign.

I love this show and never miss one but I can't understand for the life of me how intelligent people who are already work experienced can't even follow directions. Believe me, I'm an entrepreneur, I know that you have to think outside the box but do that while you are doing what the customer wants. If you job is to sell lemonade, come up with something unique while you are selling the lemonade, don't spend your time trying to convince everyone that selling lemonade is a dumb idea.

The other PM, the kid, didn't do a bad job. It was his first time, obviously. He needed to listen to his more experienced teammates but at least he followed instructions and he did come up with the 'When was the last time.....' line.
There's was definitely a better campaign and their team deserved to win.

Oh, and BTW, I didn't think she was 'gorgious'(sic). Jesus girl, you are interviewing to run a company for Donald Trump, get the hair out of your eyes and stand up straight. Sheeeesh.

i agree, she deserved to be fired. in fact the only surprising thing about her firing is how Trump did it with everyone still in the boardroom.

I'm glad we're approaching the time when we realize that swearing should no longer be an issue.

They're just words.

Just like saying, "Fuck that shit, I'd rather jump off a bridge," or, "Look at this yellow fucking banana." So you said fuck and shit in a sentence, big deal. Doesn't mean anything.

Society is too uptight.

I'm glad someone was called a pussy on TV.

I also enjoy Comedy Central's late night uncensored tv (Secret Stash).

You are right about the useage of the word pussy. The same goes for dick. You can say "you are such a dick" but you can talk about your dick or doing things to your dick.

The reference to south park is incorrect however. The FCC has no control over what they say or show, day or night. They could probably show hardcore porn if they wanted to. However, if they did all their sponsors would drop them in a second and every cable company would drop them as well. They self censor to please the public and advertisers but have no legal requirements.

The secret stash only happens late at night because sponsors and parents don't really care as much about what is played at 2am because the kids are in bed.

Well, the show is down to the final two.

Kelly was my pick all along and I think he is the best person for the job.

Jen would make a great employee but not a good boss. I think she is going to screw up her final task.

I confess, I love this show, and I liked Kelly from the beginning... I'm sorry Kevin had to go, but the interview assessments were correct about him. Jen's biggest problem,a nd it's going to lead to her demise (I hope) is that she's so confrontational, her constant bickering wiht the other women just got so darned tiresome... Watching Caroline practically roll her eyes is pretty funny.

Kelly was my pick all along too but that's only because it was leaked months ago that Jenn M. and Kelly were the final two.

I never missed an episode of the show. Always knew Kelly would end up in the final two, but never liked him that much. Somehow he seemed to me very fake and insincere, always trying to say the right things, very politician like. On the other hand, while my boyfriend hates Jen, I liked her all along. I am glad she is in the final two, although the last episode made it obvious before the elimination that Kelly would end up being chosen as the Apprentice. There is almost no suspense left for the finale, or is there, Mr. Trump?

Go Jen! I like the fact that she's seems very knowledgable about the Trump organization. And in this last task, I get the impression that Kelly is doing everything by himself and not utilizing the rest of his team because they are screwing around. Jen seems to have her team involved in the assigned task. Trump made it clear that this was supposed to be a team effort. I won't be surprised if Jen wins. Oh, and I'd like to see her in Maxim magazine.

Pussy is used all the time in the old British comedy, "Are you being served?" Who cares, it's just another list of words that will be allowed on television for our kids to hear. It's not like they don't hear the words by kids at school or even sometimes even church.

Well, I guess I will close out this thread with some facts about Kelly, the winner. This article is from our local paper. I graduated from the school that is mentioned several times in the article.

""
Apprentice' finalist has Sarasota connection

By DAVID HACKETT

david.hackett@heraldtribune.com
Over the past 35 years, Pine View School has graduated its share of future lawyers, doctors and entrepreneurs.

But for sheer fame, it is unlikely any of the school's former students will surpass Kelly Perdew, who is a step away from becoming the next "Apprentice."

From more than 200,000 applicants, Perdew is one of the final two candidates to land a top job with Donald Trump on "The Apprentice 2," which concludes with a two-hour live broadcast Thursday on NBC.

Perdew, 37, attended Pine View -- Sarasota County's school for gifted students, where the average SAT score is 1,321 -- from fourth through ninth grade.

Even in classrooms full of brainiacs, he stood out.

"In fourth grade, he was using the sixth-grade spelling book," recalled classmate Anne Toale, now a Sarasota lawyer. "He was also very athletic and all the girls had a crush on him."

Just the kind of guy other boys loved to hate, except no one hated him.

"One of the most popular kids in school," Toale recalled. "And incredibly competitive. I remember him organizing games of Capture the Flag and Four Square between classes."

He went on to build a resume that might make some question whether Trump should be Perdew's apprentice, not the other way around.

Trump, after all, recently filed for bankruptcy.

Perdew was a finalist for a Rhode's Scholarship and, in the Army, graduated from the ultra-tough Ranger training.

Perdew graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, served as a military intelligence officer, earned both an MBA and a law degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and became a software entrepreneur, reportedly selling one of his Internet firms for "eight figures." He now lives in Carlsbad, Calif.

Perdew and San Francisco attorney Jennifer Massey -- "Jenn M." -- are the finalists among 18 candidates who started the reality-based TV show in September.

Although not as popular as the original "Apprentice," the second-season show was 10th in last week's Nielsen ratings of most-watched programs.

Already, Perdew has become a celebrity with his own Web site and newsletter, which chronicle "KP's deals and latest projects."

Perdew's success didn't surprise his former English teacher, Barbara Van Arsdale.

"Kelly was one of the neatest kids I ever taught," she said. "Very bright and with a real sunny disposition."

Contacted Monday afternoon at her home in Sarasota, Van Arsdale, who retired in 1990, was surprised to learn that Perdew was appearing on "The Apprentice."

Unlike many Pine View alumni, faculty and staff who have been following each episode, Van Arsdale said she has never seen "The Apprentice" and has no plans to watch:

"Nothing against Kelly, but I wouldn't watch Donald Trump if he was the last man standing in a battle. Fear Island, people eating worms -- my God, who is watching these shows?"

Perdew signed a confidentiality agreement with NBC prohibiting interviews with the media until the show is over.

Perdew left Sarasota when he was 14 to live with his father, Tom, a real estate developer, in Wyoming. His dad described him as "The Natural."

"When he put his mind to it, there was nothing that boy couldn't do," said his father, who now lives in Englewood. "He hardly picked up a tennis racket before his senior year in high school. But this girl he was dating was a big tennis player, so he joined the team and became an all-state player."

Tom Perdew said his son will be able to handle anything Trump throws at him, so long as he doesn't ask him to sing and dance: "Kelly can't carry a tune in a bucket."

There's more at stake in Thursday's finale than mere fame. The winner will get a job with Trump with an estimated salary of $250,000.

Bill Rancic, last year's winner, is in charge of building the Trump Tower in Chicago.

Perdew has not only survived the weekly tests of business acumen, he has been the front-runner for much of the season. In a Yahoo poll of the final four candidates taken before last week's show, 67 percent of viewers predicted Massey would hear the trademark "You're fired," while only 5 percent predicted Perdew would be axed.

In the final episode, Perdew is in charge of organizing a polo match, while Massey is putting on a charity basketball game.

"Kelly's been by far the best," said Toale, his former Pine View classmate. "The only problem is that they gave it to a white male last time. They could be politically correct and give it to the girl."

If his son wins, Tom Perdew said, Trump should consider putting Kelly in charge of his financially ailing casino.

"Kelly would solve the problems or die trying," he said.

No matter what happens, Toale expects Perdew to visit Sarasota next year for Pine View's Class of 1985 reunion.

"He was here for our 10th and recently wrote that he would be back for our 20th," Toale said. "I'm sure he'll have a lot to talk about."

Does anybody else think Trump was going to hire Kelly all along and just for the sake of interest/filling time decided to pretend that it was a really hard decision and ask everyone in the crowd? It sure felt that way, but I must say there was a moment of suspense, right at the end, when I actually thought he might do the unthinkable.

Overall, season two was nowhere near as good as season one; the candidates were much better in the first one. I'll probably watch season three, but I didn't like what I saw fromt the previews.

As much as I like the idea for the show, this season has left me feeling a bit uneasy. First of all, the candidates were kind of strange, I guess. Sure, their backgrounds are impressive, but they seemed to have some major flaws in character. In fact, from the whole bunch of people I felt that only Kevin and Kelly stood out as fair and balanced folks. Other then that, they all seemed a bit, well, trigger happy I guess.

And then the show itself - they keep using the same formulas, and I could swear some of the scenes were taken straight from the first season - most notably, the "I've flown in Mr. Trump's chopper/rode in Mr. Trump's car, and now I know what it's like, and I feel that's something to strive for" shtick.

Still, I think the show has potential. I like the entrepreneurial aspect of the whole thing, and whenever I think of the values that it promotes, I think of it as a prolongation Weber's protestant ethic school of thought. Kinda.

The premise of Season 3 will be interesting, book smarts vs street smarts, but I don't think it will hold my attention like season 1 did. Season 1 had characters, and villians. Season 2 there just seemed to be a bunch of whiners.
