A Series of Unfortunate Events... The Kranks one is plain boring and uninspired.
(missed being able to vote on Ocean's 12... it was really good!)

There is no way I will ever vote for anything with Tim Allen on it. Snicket for the win! (She's Lemony Fresh!)

Snicket please. Besides the fact that the poster for Kranks is lousy, the fact that the movie even exists is an affront to society.

Lemony Snicket Aviator 1) has Leonardo DiCaprio on the poster and 2) looks just like every other movie poster.

I think Aviator looks better, has better composition, and even manages to make DiCaprio look vaguely male. However, it is as hackeneyed a design as ever was, and so, my vote to Snicket.

I'd have to say... all the posters in this thread with the exception of "saw" are cliche.
The same formula has been used time and time again. At least with saw.. you're presented with this very simple, yet bizarre image. That's it. I haven't seen the movie, but from the reviews I've read, the image looks like it could really describe the atmosphere of the movie itself without giving one single thing away. Simple is good. Remember the batman poster for the 1989 movie? It just showed the batman logo. That's it. THAT was a good poster. If it showed Keaton/Nicholson posing or making some goofy faces (a la DiCaprio in the Aviator poster above), it wouldn't have been so powerful and intriguing. I liked the posters for Matrix Reloaded. It had the Matrix code and "5.15" (or whatever, I forget the date) That's all. You knew what it was, didn't know what it was about, it was mysterious! I didn't like the individual character posters (Morpheous, Trinity, etc), but I did like the poster of the twins.. just because they looked badass and you had NO idea who the hell they were. The colors in that one were also pretty sweet. Other than that, you'll find that pretty much every movie poster is boring and unoriginal.. especially if it has some goofy picture of the actors in it (Alexander, Aviator, etc). A lot of "tough guy" flicks do this.. they'll take a picture of an average joe who's dressed up. Wow, a guy with a gun.. I haven't seen THAT before or anything. Mkay.. great, so what significance is this character supposed to have and what is this picture supposed to convey to me to make me want to see it or inquire more about it? [edit] And I do have to say... that Episode 3 poster is horrible. Really HORRIBLE. I could see if the cape naturally made this odd illusion of a darth vader helmet, but it doesn't.. and for them to forcefully make it appear like that just makes it look amateurish. The poster for EP1 was sweet with Anakin's shadow casting the silhouette of Vader. You know what would've been good? A picture of Vader looking forward. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. That would've been perfect.

I don't really like either poster, but of the two, I like A Series of Unfortunate Events more.
The Aviator poster sucks, and it's blantatly promoting Leonardo instead of the movie, which results in average person going to see the movie for the actor instead of the movie itself (which likely sucks). |

I vote for Snicket though we have a strong contender again.

Tough Call! None of the above? They're both a little off somehow. I gotta go with Snicket, though, just on a gut feeling.
