Taxi w/ Jimmy Falon, Queen Latifa, Gisele Bundchen
I just got back from seeing the american remake of taxi, originally brought to us by Luc Besson. I've seen Taxi 1, 2, and 3 about 40 or 50 times each and I love them dearly. I'm not sure why America can't make movies like this. Neeways, I sat through the whole thing.
I like the basic storyline. I like the idea of letting American audiences in on this great movie franchise. I don't like the idea of making it more predictable than a Bearenstein Bears book (there's an odd comparison, eh?). It's single redeeming aspect is as follows: Spoiler: Spoiler: Gisele Bundchen is worth seeing the film in and of herself. She is decent for a model turned first time actress, and has one paticular scene which makes the whole film. She has a scene with Jennifer Esposito where she gives Jennifer a very erotic frisk (feels her up). It looked like Jennifer enjoyed it. I started shaking. |

Sounds like a rental if I've ever heard of one. I didnt realize it was a remake. I look at it as the hollywood bigwigs saw Bringing down the house gross good buck, and queen latifa being a star of it they feel she can carry a movie now bringing along yet another snl;r for the ride. Id be suprised if this movie does well in the box office. I have no intention of seeing it.

It doesn't seem amusing to me either. The dryness of the jokes in the commercials were bad enough - and those are suposed to be the hi-lights??! I think the stereotypical minority comic relief had been played out enough. I like Queen Latifa, but I don't think she is very funny, nor a good actress.
Might catch it on cable when it comes out, but thats about it. |

Both Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifah annoy me greatly, so I don't anticipate paying to see it. I might sneak in on an unofficial double-feature, though.

Fallon is the most overrated SNL member... Latifa has had her moments in other flicks, but I didn't enjoy this movie at all... It's a rental at most, don't waste your money going to see it in the theaters my $.02

I refuse to see this film.
Why must Hollywood make everything into a pile of shit. How do you take the Taxi series and turn them into a fuckin' slapstick comedy? That makes me fuckin' sick.

There are 3 Taxi movies in french and I think at least one is available on netflix, but I'm not sure. If you get a hold of Taxi 3, pay attention in the first 5 minutes for an unexpected star. And leave it in french, you'll want to hear it in french. |
