A new image of The Thing:

In my opinion, what he should've looked like:

What are your opinions of the new pic?

The only man I can think of that has ever been large enough to play a Character like The Thing and look surprisingly similar in proportionate size between The Thing and other comic characters and his character in a movie and other actors is Andre The Giant. Sadly the Giant left us many moons ago. They prolly couldn't do too much better than Chilkis(though they almost certainly could in fact do better). Characters like The Thing, Incredible Hulk, Juggernaut, Strong Man, etc. are all far too large for an actor or any current computer technology to ever produce a satisfying on-the-big-screen larger than life super hero in a big blockbuster comic movie. Though we'd all love to see them because they are some of the most badass if not THE most badass characters in the comic book world. The worlds largest man(seen in House of 1000 corpses and Big Fish) probably couldn't even pull of one of these rolls and the man is gigantic. I'd so love to see Juggernaut in an X-Men movie...could never happen without him looking cheesy though.

well they had to make him look real to some extent

if they made him look like he did in the comic, cartoon (and action figure), I don't think he would look nearly as "realistic" (if there is such a thing). if I saw the second picture's version of the thing in the movie, I'm not sure if would match the whole "realistic" scene or whatever. I think the first picture is pretty damn close to what I had in mind. I feel like we are going to be able to see emotion from the actor with that rendition of Thing. Hoorah

I agree about being able to see emotion from him.
I'd be happy if he had larger brow ridges, though.

Hey all the comments are right on: Jessica Alba is hot but no actor, Thing looks odd, Mr. Fantastic too young. I've seen some good recommendations for Sue Storm (Nicole Kidman would be cool), but how about for Mr. Fantastic? i always envisioned the guy as in his 40's. Hrm...Richard Gere? although in Shall We Dance he looked fukin old. Liam Neeson? Gary Oldman? I have no idea.

Who's that eyebrows dude from "The O.C." he might make a decent Mr. Fantastic. Kinda pointless to list names considering the cast has already been picked and they probably have already started filming right? Oh well they fucked up. Hope it's still decent regardless. But just think about what the special effects for Mr. Fantastic are gonna look like. I mean just about any dude they pick is gonna look cheesy as hell stretching like he does in the comics. It will more than likely be laughable.

RJ, your clip doesn't work anymore.

I checked the joblo.com site earlier, following a link from Superherohype, and there was a message that said that their three servors weren't able to handle the traffic due to all of the interest in the film, so they were forced to take it down until they got a few mirror sites set up to handle the load.
Then, I go back not too long ago to see if they were set up, and got this message:
Quote:
UPDATE: Fox has asked us to remove the FANTASTIC FOUR video from our website. Despite looking damn good, the clips were apparently rough materials from early in production and not true to the way the film will look. Sorry for the inconvenience, folks.
Here is a collage I made of pics they had up earlier:

Well Doom looks better than I thought he would. Still not sure about Mr. Fantastic though.

A scan of Dr. Doom from the magazine, Entertainment Weekly. (found on superherohype)

He looks good to me.
His mask looks kinda green from the reflection of his tunic, though.

What do you guys think of the overall costume?
Does it do the comics justice?

Hate to say it but I think this movie is going to be dead on arrival. Looks like they spent more time and money on the effects than they did on script. And those actors looks so wrong for their roles don't they?
