Best Episode Ever

I was amazed not to see this thread done before. Well, I did a search and didn't find anything..

Okay, so this morning while enjoying my blueberries and milk (while trying to get my cat not to drink out of the bowl) I happened upon Saved by the Bell on TBS. And it was the Best Episode Ever!

You know the one... When Jessie starts taking pills so she can stay up and study and pratice singing or something. And Zack finds out, and she says "I just need more pills!" Starts freaking out. Zack is all "You can't sing tonight." And Jessie says "Yes I can! I'm so excited! I'm so excited! I'm so.... scared..." I think it might actually be the best episode of any show on television ever. Okay, maybe I'm stretching...

So what are your Best Episodes Ever? This can be totally subjective, of course.

Bill O'Rights 09-16-2004 05:12 AM

I'm confused. Are you asking for our favorite "Saved by the Bell" episode...or just the best episode of anything that strikes our particular fancy?

Averett 09-16-2004 05:26 AM

Best of anything, sorry!

Best Saved By the Bell Episode would get pretty boring pretty quickly ;)

So post away on your Best Buffy episode ;)

Nancy 09-16-2004 05:40 AM

Every episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus are the best ever :D

Nancy 09-16-2004 05:55 AM

The best episode of Weebl and Bob is definitely "bobs week in france pt. 2" :D

BuddyHawks 09-16-2004 07:08 AM

Best episode of Seinfeld - The Strike

"It's another Festivus miracle!!!"

Dingo2879 09-16-2004 08:35 AM

Best Seinfeld episode
The one where George pretends to be a Marine Biologist is forced to save the whale that has a golf ball (Krammers) stuck in it's blowhole!

Nancy 09-16-2004 10:45 AM

oh and the X-files! The best episode ever was Tooms! Damn that one was scary :(

MageB420666 09-16-2004 12:22 PM

Best episode of Futurama - When time started skipping and Fry got married to Leela, temporarily.
Best episode of South Park - When Cartman made Scott Tenerman eat his parents.
Best episode of Family Guy - New Year 2000, when the world ended

Mondak 09-16-2004 12:41 PM

Simpsons - The one where Bart wins the elephant from the Radio. He named him Stampy. I won my foosball table Stampy when I won it. The contest had all kinds of TVs and other electronic devices and I took the table. The fellow who put the contest together was so surprised that someone actually chose the table that he did not know where he was going to get one. Hence Stampy. Oh yeah - I about shit myself when Stampy pulls Barney out of the Tarpit.

Shizukana 09-16-2004 01:03 PM

Man, that episode of weebl and bob was funny as hell... and I don't know exactly why! Hmmmm.

Very odd stuff.

Troublebot 09-16-2004 01:08 PM

Best Simpson Episode- The Treehouse of Terror with "The Shinning" in it.

Best Buffy Episode- "Hush" which contains no dialogue for about 40 minutes. It sounds stupid when I explain it, but it's very well done. Plus, it has the best exposition scene of any Buffy ep and the scariest villians. The Gentleman give me major willies.

Best Sopranos Episode- "The Pine Barrens" where Chris and Paulie get stuck in the wilds of Jersey on a winter's evening, searching for a Russian they were suppose to kill. Nothing's funnier that Paulie Walnuts wrapped in van carpeting and eating ketchup packets.

Dane Bramage 09-16-2004 01:18 PM

Best Northern Exposure Episode: When Steve's friend dies and he uses the Trebuchet to "fling" him into the lake.

Best Star Trek: TNG Episode: the final, All Good Things...

Sargeman 09-16-2004 01:24 PM

The best episode of The Wonder Years, was when Winnie had gotten into a car accident with that older kid and Kevin wanted to see her so bad. At the end he finally climbs up the lattice to her window and sees her there and the music starts playing ( I don't remember if it was "When a Man Loves a Woman" or "We've got tonight") and then Kevin whispers to her through her window "I Love You!" and Winnie whispers it back.

Damn, that was the greatest episode!

Sargeman 09-16-2004 01:27 PM

Best Family guy episode: When Peter and his wife decide to date others. The part where she finally decides to go out with Quagmire and he gets a coat for her and puts the sleeve in his fly but she doesn't want to wear the coat.

Freaking hilarious!

Scipio 09-16-2004 08:05 PM

Star Trek: TNG: The one with the Enterprise C, where they time shift.

South Park: Scott Tenerman revenge is way up there

Family Guy: The Christmas one with "Kiss Saves Santa"

Sealab: Happy Cake

ATHF: I like Wisdom Cube, but the first Mooninites will go down as the best.

Law and Order: They're all the same, every iteration included. Great show, but don't try and tell them apart.

Rodney 09-16-2004 08:39 PM

Northern Exposure: the first-season episode in which Chris finds out he has a black half-brother (Bernard). Neither of them realize they're related to one another until they share a dream in which both of them get a ride in a semi driven by Carl Jung.

Simpsons -- the episode in which Homer has strange visions after eating chile con carne made with hallucinogenic chile peppers.

Angel -- "Are You Now, or Have You Ever Been?" A flashback to the '50s and the McCarthy era, and kind of an allegory for that whole era. Brilliant.

Dead Zone -- Episode in which Johnny tries to have sex for the first time since waking up with psychic powers. He can't get it up because old lovers and friends keep walking into the room (in his visions) and talking to him. Even his mom! Painfully funny.

The Chronicle -- short-lived series on Sci-Fi about a lurid tabloid in which all the stories are true; best episode is a trip to a convention of vampire Elvis impersonators, in which the King himself shows up to dust them all.

Strangers with Candy -- the final episode, when the teachers torch the high school.

Mr.Deflok 09-16-2004 09:36 PM

There was an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air when Will's father comes back, only to abandon him again. That was incredibly moving near the end, definately one of my favourite episodes ever.

Also, every new episode of 24 makes me say BEST EPISODE EVAARHARRRH

irateplatypus 09-16-2004 10:17 PM

Best Simpsons - "Girlie Edition" Bart and Lisa head up that kid's news show. Homer gets Mojo the Helper Monkey.

Hi-friggin-larious.

twotimesadingo 09-16-2004 11:37 PM

Simpsons - Homer as a Missionary, when Homer made the bogus donation to PBS, was chased by PBS kid-show characters, then cried for sanctuary: "Save me, Jeebus!"

Holy jeebus, that was funny.

Derwood 09-17-2004 04:25 AM

Last night's "The Apprentice"

Kadath 09-17-2004 04:56 AM

West Wing -- Two Cathedrals. Mrs. Landingham's funeral and the President announcing he has MS and deciding at the last minute that he's going to run for a second term anyway, the moment when "Brothers in Arms" comes in and all the staff lining up together behind the President to stand with him no matter what.

Friends -- The One with the Embryos. Ross makes up the trivia game. Brilliantly written and the comedic acting is some the best that cast ever did.

ST:NG -- Scipio, Yesterday's Enterprise is pretty great, but I like Clues (where they lose a day and try to figure out why), Genesis (when everyone on the ship mutates into crazy animal hybrids) and the one where Worf is coming back from the tournament and is shifting through alternate realities. Also, I guess Cause and Effect, when the ship is trapped in the loop. I suppose I just like the mystery episodes.

Sopranos -- Like Troublebot said, Pine Barrens, third season, when Paulie and Christopher are trapped in the woods. I didn't even see that reccomendation until I'd picked my favorite; it really is a great ep.

gremlinx8 09-17-2004 06:16 AM

The Simpsons- the one with Sideshow Bob and his brother Cecil. It's like Fraiser on the Simpsons- great episode.

Dingo2879 09-17-2004 07:05 AM

Two Cathedrals- That was the best West Wing episode, man I wish Sorkin was still writting that show.

Carno 09-17-2004 07:10 AM

The Simpsons - When Homer is the stuntman who takes cannon balls to the stomach.

2sheds 09-17-2004 08:22 PM

saved by the bell - when jessie becomes an exotic dancer in vegas and does that lap dance with kyle mclaughlin ... oh, wait - right actress, wrong part...

That is the best episode ever. Ahahahaha, I forgot all about that episode.

Stare At The Sun 09-17-2004 09:47 PM

TNG- All good things. Far and above the best episode. It was the last, and simply amazing. Q being in it was just perfect.

09-18-2004 06:43 AM

the simpsons - when the dolphins take back the land! hahaha

JumpinJesus 09-18-2004 08:05 AM

The best episode on television ever was the episode of "Facts of Life" where the girls learned an important lesson on friendship.

I disagree. I really like the "Very Special" episode of ER.

MPower 09-18-2004 08:24 AM

Simpsons - Bart gets a big brother sponsor, so Homer sponsors his own little brother - Pepe.

That one was good, but do you really think it equalled the depth and emotion captured by those prep school girls?

thespian86 09-18-2004 04:12 PM

Best episode of the OC, the first episode when Ryan sticks up for Seth. Good guy. I'm a seth at heart.

frankgrimes 09-18-2004 06:29 PM

wow, a real difference of opinion on best "simpsons" episode. i'll just say "cape feare" will never be equaled. i also agree with derwood, this weeks "apprentice" killed!

pancakerabbit 09-19-2004 07:40 AM

The Simpsons: Monorail episode :)

tropple 09-19-2004 11:12 AM

The best episode of Mission Impossible was after they started doing the international crime stories when they tricked a the head of drug counterfeiting ring that he had a fatal sickness that could only be cured using some thing he'd counterfeited to trick him into confessing.

Mission Impossible rocked.

I think that happens to be the best episode of any show anywhere for all time.

Except maybe the episode in Taxi where Christopher Lloyd takes the driving
test and he asks the question, "What does a yellow light mean." ... "Slow down."
"Wwwhhhhaaaatttt dooooeeessss aaaa yeeellloooowwww lliiiiigggghhtttt
meeeaaaaannnn." ... "Slow Down." You get the idea.

Best Seinfeld (or at least most absurd), The Episode with the Voice.
"Heeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooo."

I second this, such a great episode.

Tony (on cell phone): The russian was part of the ministry of the interior!
Paulie: What? Apparently that guy we whacked was... an interior decorator.
Chris: Really? His apartment looked like shit.

That one, or the like...5th episode of the first season, where Meadow sings in the choir, that one was really good, too

Scrubs: "My Screw-Up" where Brendan Fraser dies...so beautifully written and performed.
