I just saw on the news in Chicago, that those people who won the cars, have to pay close to a whopping 7,000 dollars in taxes on those cars... Wonder if they're still happy they won?

Yeah, I just read that as well - here. It's a tough situation. How much is Oprah expected to do?
I imagine that when the winners signed the legal forms, it was made clear to them that, in accepting the car, they would have to pay local taxes. I also imagine that if you didn't want to pay those taxes, you could have refused to take the car. It comes down to: would you pay $7,000 within the year for a $28,000 new car? If the answer is yes, then....

I can see Oprah's residence from the balcony of my apartment. The lights are never on. Either she's never at her Chicago residence or she runs around in the dark, which can be dangerous for her toes. Either way, my boss keeps telling me I must make too much money if I can afford to live 4 blocks from her.
I tell my boss I'll be making enough when I can live in the same building as her. I'm not a huge fan of hers (I don't get a lot of that girlie stuff as Mr. Mephisto puts it) but I think she does good. Hell, she doesn't have to do jack if she doesn't want to. She could go around saying, "I'm Oprah, Bitch!" and she'd still be stupid rich. I wonder if she ever looks in the mirror and says, "Holy Shit! I'm Oprah!"

Looks like there is a bit of a downside to this story after all kids. There truely is no free lunch in this world.

We taped the most boring show in the history of the Oprah show today. It was Amy Fisher, who has a new book out about her and Joey Buttofuco. Lame!
The second show was celbri-riffic though. Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Christina Aguiliera and P. Diddy all on getting people to vote.

I've read a few of the books on her booklist, good stuff, really.
Derwood, i'm glad to hear she seems as nice offscreen as she does onscreen, because she just has a teddy-bear quality to her, it would be a shame if it were fake. ...I'm such sissy, hehe.

Yeah she's pretty nice. Not a diva at all (unlike many of the women she has on as guests.....Christina Aguilera was constantly followed around by an entourage of about 8 people)
