simpsons: homer's age!?!?!??!
has this been mentioned before? homer simpson's age is confusing! remember when he was at woodstock, in 1969, he was a tiny little baby. and yet, only 5 years later, in 1974, both he and marge were high school seniors. and a later episode has homer mentioning the glorious two weeks between summer school and regular school, in 1978!?!??! he would have been nine years older in 1978 than he would be in 1969, making him about eleven in 1978, and he was going to high school? kind of says a lot about homer IMHO.

Another thing I remember from the show commentary is the fact that the writers have never really tried to sync of a story line for the show (I.E. just because they said he did this then in this show dosn't mean they wont say something that will make that completly impossible on the next show) Its all about when the show was made. Homer is 36. Wether it be 2003 or 1993. The problem lies in the fact that the homer and marge meeting episode he was 36 and that was like 9 years ago. So 1974 seemed to make some sense. Where as the the episode that made refernce to 1978 was this year. In 1994 that would mean homer was 16 in 1974 which fits the story line. And either I overanylize or don't anylize enough.

Meridae'n once played "death" at a game of chess that lasted for over two years. He finally beat death in a best 34 out of 67 match. At that time he could ask for any one thing and he could wish for the hope of all mankind... he looked death right in the eye and said ... "I would like about three fiddy" |

I am now 24, I imagine it will be strange when I get to be older than Homer. He was 36 when I was 10 or 11, and will be 36 when I am 50. Its like when I was in 5th grade, all the 90210 kids seemed really old, now if the show was on in reruns, they would seem very young. Another thing I thought of, Jimi, Janis, Jim, and Kurt were all either big stars or well on their way there when they were my age. Okay, I'm tired, sorry for the diversion.

in the episode where the simpsons go to florida during spring break to try and cure homer's insomina/insanity, homer gets the self quiz magazine in the beginning and takes a test and it says he will die at 42. he then exclaims that he only has 3 years to live. that would make him 39.
