Buffy the Vampire Slayer: RIP

It's almost over. One of the most original and creative series ever. I think that it was even better than ST:TNG which I loved for it's intelligence and creativity.

I just finished watching a screener of BTVS:Once More with Feeling which is the one that is a musical. This is one of my favorite episodes, next to Hush.

I am going to miss the good writing, colorful characters, and also the original myths they created. If you've never watched BTVS. I really recommend it. It's well written, never takes itself too seriously, but still maintains it's integrity.

While Angel will carry the torch, it is not the same show. It has it's own life that is like a brother or sister. I will miss it. What's your favorite episode?

I never really watched the show, and I don’t know why. Its on when I'm the gym in the mornings.

But I do really like <a target=new href="http://www.stuffmagazine.com/cover_girls/html/girl_160.html"><b>Charisma Carpenter</b></a>

but I am in love with <a target=new href="http://www.maximonline.com/girls_of_maxim/html/girl_620.html"><b>Eliza Dushku</b></a>

What's the title of the episode where Buffy and Faith fight and make out?

Admitting you watch Buffy is like coming out of the closet. I am the ONLY guy I know who watches and I learned quickly to stop asking others if they watch it.

It is a great series, I've been hooked for 4 years. I must say that this season has by far been the worst but it all seems to be coming together for the finale.

I'm also a huge Angel fan... thought the season finale sucked though... it would of been good for a series finale (which it almost was) but it was too clean at the end and everybody was happy.

There I said I feel refreshed....

I watch Buffy
I watch Angel
I watch 24
i watch the Shield

Those are my manly primetime soaps!!!!!!

I'll admit I started watching right from the beginning. AND I liked the original movie with Kristy Swanson too.
This season has been kinda crappy but it's still head and shoulders above last season. What a drudge that was.
Is it just me or for a show that only has one more episode, isn't there a lot to wrap up?
I'm hoping that now that BtVS is done that Joss's attention will go to Angel to get some better writing there!
Hush is one of my favorites and the other is the Slayer Dream with Xander driving the ice cream truck!

I love the series and I'm really bummed out that its ending. I keep thinking that they should make a movie out of it and then catch myself. It started out as a movie although not of the same caliber as the series.

My favorite episode is Hush. The episode in which we first see Evil Willow (can't recall the name of it) is a close second. My least favorite was the episode in which Buffy's mom dies. It was too damn realistic and hit too close to home for me.

I have to agree, Hush was a great episode. My absolute fav though is the one where Spike is telling Buffy about the two slayers he's killed. The best line in the series: "One of these days, you're going to really want it. And when you do, I'm going to be there. And I'm going to have myself a real good day."

I never watched the show in its original run. When I got out of school and was out of work for a little while I started watching the syndication on FX. That episode was the first one I saw. I kept waiting for it to be a dream, or for some magic to bring her back(which sort of happened later, I guess), but when she didn't I realized that show didn't pull punches like some others. I couldn't let myself get hooked on it, so I deliberately stay away now. It IS amazing.

I'll probabaly tune in for the last ep. I haven't watched it regularly since just after it moved to UPN. I dunno...I just wasn't feeling it anymore. Angel I haven't watched in just as long (which sucks, cause I heard this season was real good) I'm just enjoying my DVD's for the time ;-j

Favorite episodes: Hush and Dopplegangland. That's the one where vampire Willow crosses over when Anya tries to get back to her world. I liked it so much I use one of Vampire Willow's lines in my signature.

I can <b>so</b> relate to that statement. I watched Buffy from the first season. When the show moved to UPN I stopped watching after awhile. It was picking up a decidedly racier flavor. I don't mind inuendo, but I didn't like seeing Buffy drop to her knees and front of Spike and watching her head bob up and down. And no, I'm not a prude, but I <b>do</b> have kids. I will be watching the final episode though.

Oh, and btw, my favorite episode was "The Wish". Willow looked hotter than Hell in leather and all "vamped" out. (Get it...get it...huh? I'm to freakin' old. )

yes.. the drop to her knees was a bit over the top as is when Xander recently got his eye gouged out. It was very graphic for TV.

It did allow for some good puns like,"It's all fun and games until someone loses and eye."

Buffy has been an Awesome program, i wish it could go on forever.
the creativity, the constant plays on gender and sexual stereotyping, and gorgeous stars, the graphics.
it all adds up to a magnificent show.

down under, it has always had a shitty timeslot, late on a monday night. annoying, but worth it.

i've got to say that on a whole, season three was my fav. (because i'm a sook and get emotional in the last ep - The Prom). The Musical Ep is another fav.

thank goodness for DVD box sets!

Buffy is a good show, but I started watching it only after I got hooked on Angel. I think this seasons Angel is pretty weak, but I watched every episode anyway. Next season looks promising.

Ok, I've seen every episode of Buffy but I don't know what they were called. Which episode was Hush?

Edit: Thanks Buffyguide.com. Yeah, that episode was good, but the BEST? Nah. It had some great moments though...Ack, I really need to get these DVDs.

Hush was the episode with the Gentleman and was the closest the shpw got to winning an Emmy (which it deserves). If anyone listens to NPR (National Public Radio) they had a segemnt on Buffy fans who are Acedemics. You can find it at : <a href="http://www.npr.org/display_pages/features/feature_1262180.html">http://www.npr.org/display_pages/fea...e_1262180.html</a> (hope the html works)

Fans should know that while Buffy is over after next week, Angel got renewed for another season and Spike will be joining the cast, hopefully as a the new seasons nemesis (I always liked him better as a bad guy).

Buffy is one of my favorite shows, mostly because of the writing. Does anyone else combine comedy and drama so successfully?

I'll be sad it's going, but, in my opinion, UPN has never done it justice. It has slid a little since it moved from the WB.

Hush is probably my favorite episode. (The scene in the classroom is a classic) Then, I'll go out on a limb and say The Zeppo is another fave. Zander has always been a guy I related to, so I'm big on the Zandercentric eps. This one is particularly good.

And can I just say Willow is hot? Willow is hot.

I almost forgot... those of you who do love Buffy and don't have an Xbox... go rent one. Buffy the Vampire Slayer video game is a great game. It's got a good story and all the voices except Sarah Michelle Gellar are present from Xander to Spike.

I've watched the show from the very beginning anf I absolutely love it. There are so many good episodes its hard to pick favorites, although as many have mentioned Hush is on the top of my list. I'd also have to say Dopplegangland, Becoming Part II, Something Blue, and Tabula Rasa were all great as well. This season was not the greatest, but it still had its good moments. Yes, there is a lot left unresolved, but at least that leaves the door open for movies or more spin-offs.

I just wanted to post to say that I read this thread about a week ago and scoffed at all you for diggin' Buffy.....

Then I watched a couple of episodes...you know....for educational purposes....trying to understand the other side and all....

I enjoyed it very much. It was the one where Buffy takes "an aspect of the demon" and begins to hear what everybody thinks. I don't know some of it was cheesy and some of I really liked.....

So, I guess thanks for turning me on to Buffy.....I think....

I thought that the last ep was pretty good, but the ending was a bit too open. I know that a lot of the characters will be appearing in Angel next season, but still...we could have had a little more closure with the characters.

I was a faithful BtVS watcher until they used the cheesy plot device of bringing in the unknown sibling. I boycotted most of Dawn's first season for that reason only. Then I gave it another look and was hooked again, but hated the Dawn character. Kinda the Wesley Crusher of BtVS ('cept I didn't mind Wes).

This season was pretty crummy, but even when BtVS is pretty crummy, it's better than 95% percent of what's on network television.

I didn't think much of the final episode. Usually, I'm willing to suspend harsh judgement in re: non-logical plot devices. However, what was the point of having the gang being dispatched to guard the exits of the h.s. to stop the uber vamps from escaping? It was a bright, sunny day. They would have been dust.

Actually, if you'd paid more attention during the episode, Robin explains that the uber-vampires could get up into the school and then down into the sewers.
I'm bummed that they did in Anya and not Andrew.

My name is Charlatan and I'm a Buffy adict... whew. Now that I have that out in the open...

What am I going to do on Tuesday nights now?

(Spoilers for those in the UK, Australia, etc.)

The last episode was great. Spike! What a way to go... all his tough ass side out in the open BUT he still gets to redeem himself. Blaze of glory...

I was sorry to see Anya die but it was totally appropropriate. He whole fixation has been about the mortality of humans. She chose to be human earlier this season and this played out nicely.

Faith seems to have a light of hope in become "normal and adjusted" in her relationship with Robin...

Willow! Damn did she kick ass! Looks like she tapped into the power of good in the exact opposite to how she tapped into evil at the end of last season... I am sure that she will be making appearences on Angel (she's married to Alexis Denisof or Wesley Windham Price). I'd love to see her powers explored elsewhere (There was this one time, at band Camp... when I kicked some demon ass!)

Buffy: They have always played up the "I am the only one" angle before but it became a very front an centre subplot this season... I wasn't surprised to see that they activated all the slayers... What's next for Buffy? An underground training camp to build up an army of slayers... Someone has to teach them how to kick ass and still have time to shop. It will be interesting to see if these slayers have any impact on the storylines in Angel.

I could go on but probably shouldn't...

Oh yeah... my favourite episode is either Once More with Feeling (the muscial episode) or Dopplegangerland (evil Willow comes to our Sunnydale)...

But all of season two is great... By the way, I seem to be one a very short list that liked season 6...
