Legolas from Lord of the Rings pwnz all with his bow and arrow.

Oh and Brad Pitt as Achilles in Troy.

Just thought I'd mention these because no one else has mentioned them so far.

(Oh and uh, sorry for using "pwnz.")

Jon Arbuckle 08-20-2004 10:19 PM

"The Dude" - The Big Lebowski

matteo101 08-20-2004 10:54 PM

The Bride-Kill Bill

whocarz 08-21-2004 12:34 AM

I got a lot no one has mentioned.

Maximus - Gladiator
Major Konig - Enemy at the Gates
Animal Mother - Full Metal Jacket
Sgt. Horvath - Saving Private Ryan
Cpl. Steiner - The Iron Cross
Tyler Durden - Fight Club
Eldon Perry - Dark Blue
"Hoot" - Blackhawk Down
Lt. Col. Hal Moore - We Were Soldiers

Bullet Tooth Tony - Snatch
Boris "The Blade" - Snatch
"Bud" White - L.A. Confidential
"Spoon" Witherspoon - Dog Soldiers

And that's just from my small movie collection. Hollywood can make badass characters pretty easily, huh?

Oh, I almost forgot, any Samuel Jackson character, ever.

Arc101 08-21-2004 04:52 AM

Ash - Army of Darkness
Vincent & Jools - Pulp Fiction
Dirty Harry - Ah-ah, I know what you're thinking punk. You're thinking did he fire six shots or only five? And to tell you the truth I've forgotten myself in all this excitement. But being this is a .44 Magnum - the most powerful hand gun in the world and will blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question--Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk!

Gortexfogg 08-21-2004 07:11 AM

John Wayne's character in "The Searchers"
That bank robber from "The Fugitive"
Blondie from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"

Gustoferson 08-21-2004 10:56 AM

I agree with a lot on this list so far, so I'll avoid repeating a long list and say the first one that came to my head:

Bill - Kill Bill Vol. 2

In the scenes with his character, he just inhabits the badass nature. The way he talks and acts fits perfectly in my head, even more than someone who just does badass things.

Definately like a lot of the lists though as well.

sailor 08-21-2004 11:23 AM

One guy: Michael Corleone, The Godfather I, II, and III.

warrrreagl 08-22-2004 05:20 AM

The Big Lebowski is my favorite movie, and I can't say much of a single bad word about it, but the Dude is definately NOT a badass. The scene (one of many that comes to mind) that demonstrates this well is him nailing a plank of wood to the floor (with about 50 bent nails) so he can set up a chair to barricade the door, only to find out 30 seconds later that the door opens outward. He later trips over the plank.

I would have to add Wyatt (Peter Fonda) from Easy Rider.

But I think the prize definately goes to Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) in Pulp Fiction - even his wallet is a "Bad Mother Fucker."

The badass of Tombstone was definitely Doc Holliday, though I will say that Wyatt (Kurt Russell, if you must) had a much better "steely gaze" than Doc (Val Kilmer).

DonnieBoy 08-29-2004 05:16 PM

Samuel Jackson's Character in "The Long Kiss Goodnight"... I love him in that movie...

Robert Mitchum. Yes, a nice choice.

Siccx 08-30-2004 04:55 AM

Terry Tsurugi, Sonny Chiba's character from the "Street Fighter" series of films. This guy was ripping out nut sacks and Adams apples from his foes. I don't think you can get anymore "badassed" then Terry over there. If you've seen any of the films you'd know that this guy is some sort of human ass-kicking machine that can't be shut off. Seriously check out any of the films, they're great, and I'm sure you can find them for two or five dollars in the bargain DVD bin at your local corner store...
