WTF!? Movies you have seen

What are the most fucked up movies you have seen recently? I'll start with a good one:

Mulholland Drive

Church 08-05-2004 09:29 PM

Love, Actually.

God I hate that garbage. The hot girls were the only redeeming factor in that piling heap of trash.

sadistikdreams 08-05-2004 09:30 PM

The Rules of Attraction

Memento

Ace_O_Spades 08-05-2004 10:32 PM

Ichi the Killer

Fear and Loathing <- for the 100000th time

TheRagingBull 08-05-2004 10:58 PM

Cabin Fever.

Still pondering whether this was supposed to be a serious movie or a pisstake?

You might hate it, but how is it a fucked up movie?

There's a movie staring Kenneth Branaugh called "Dead Again." That movie is fucked up!

pixelbend 08-06-2004 05:28 AM

It's not the last movie that weired me out, but one I always remember is "Very Bad Things".

Very dark comedy.

Polyphobic 08-06-2004 05:42 AM

It's very difficult for a movie to be fucked up to me. Hell, I thought Muholland Drive was fine. My wife and I saw the Director's cut of the butterfly effect. The movie was decent until the end. Something about watching a baby strangle himself petrified us. I would guess our reaction was due to our 1 yr old son.

asudevil83 08-06-2004 11:53 AM

Requim for a Dream
House of a Thousand Corpses
Spun

KellyC 08-06-2004 12:39 PM

a cheap vietnamese produced movie called Oan Hon - Spirit.

bad acting, bad script, bad plot, bad make up, bad lighting, bad props, bad editting, bad everything!...the only good thing i can say about that movie is that it has two hot chicks.

stonegrody 08-06-2004 12:51 PM

Batoru rowaiaru (Battle Royale)

This movie had WTF all over it. Pretty cool flick.

I was lucky enough to catch the original ending first, i watched the directors cut not too long ago and that ending ruined the whole movie. The original was far better and felt great after watching it.

Talon Valdez 08-06-2004 09:47 PM

Ahh "Dead Again". Love that film.

Hmm, let's see. Recently, "Dead Man" with Johnny Depp, "Bad Lieutenant" with Harvey Keitel and "Basketball Diaries" with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Whoops, mustn't forget "Buffalo 66" with Vincent Gallo and Christina Ricci

whocarz 08-06-2004 10:53 PM

My vote goes to Ichi the Killer as well. Very fucking bizzare movie. Also, Dead Alive and Bad Taste, two early Peter Jackson movies, are very fucked up. I mean, Dead Alive has a priest who kung fu's the shit out of two zombies, and a monster intestinal tract, while Bad Taste is just, well, it's... go see it.

I heard this movie was suppose to be a spoof of some 70's horror movie. Either way, it's a piece of garbage.

Well it's not a spoof; its just a horror movie that doesn;t take itself quite too seriously (think Evil Dead).
It wasn't quite that bad, but it wasn't great either.

Cross-Over 08-07-2004 12:35 PM

Requiem for a Dream

I haven't watched it recently, but I think it definitely fits that description. It was like a downward spiral, just all negative.

powerclown 08-07-2004 02:03 PM

Oh, this is an easy one, as of about a month ago.
Easily the most twisted, sick, perverted, fucked up, nihilistic and unapologetic movie I've seen:

Happiness

k1ng 08-07-2004 02:15 PM

I'm surprised no one has mentioned these:
Ken Park
Gummo
Kids

Nafter 08-08-2004 02:18 PM

Fear and loathing in Las Vegas
Ichi the killer
battle royale
Gummo
Kids
riki-oh the story of ricky
Versus

off the top of me head

bparker805 08-08-2004 02:25 PM

Thirteen

This movie is actually making me second guess having children in the future.

3zos 08-08-2004 04:09 PM

fyi, dead alive is miike not jackson

jdubz 08-08-2004 04:37 PM

Saw the 'Butterfly Effect' the other day.

Pretty trippy...............It's worth a rent.

Dawson70 08-08-2004 06:19 PM

What Dreams May Come...
not the best story ever, but very trippy

Can you tell me what happened in the cinema version? Saw the directors cut yesterday on dvd but didn't have a chance to see the actual different ending which happened in the cinema. What a shitty choice for an ending.

Nafter 08-09-2004 05:15 PM

Got Being John Malkovich on DVD the other day as well, always a dead wierd film but highly enjoyable

onodrim 08-09-2004 05:35 PM

Adaptation, Requiem for a Dream, both excellent movies - both wtf movies.

Nancy 08-10-2004 12:21 AM

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Beyond Re-Animator. ugh.

You are thinking of a different movie with the same title. Peter Jackson made a movie called "Dead Alive", which also had another title depending on the release, called "Brain Dead". The Miike flick is an ultraviolent gangster flick (or so I have heard), while Jackson's is an ultraviolent horror/comedy.

gdr2004 08-10-2004 06:20 AM

Pistol Opera - I was like "WTF- I want my money back". I still don't understand how people can praise this movie.

Adaptation- It was one of those movies where people pretend to know what it was about when really they have no idea and they're just praising it so they appear to be intelligent. I couldn't stand it. Ok, ok, maybe I just have no appericiation and I'm just pretending to be a cynical critic since I got nothing else.

Bowling for Columbine - WTF
Any movie by Michael Moore - WTF

Kadath 08-10-2004 07:25 AM

Speaking of Peter Jackson, Heavenly Creatures was very WTF. "We had discovered the pleasures of SIN"<blood gush over camera>. What. The. Fuck.

sailor 08-10-2004 07:25 AM

I love movies like this. Ive seen plenty of movies that left me with questions at the local art-house theater. Movies that leave you with questions are the best. Its a great feeling when, a week after you watched the movie, you finally figure it out.

I hate crap like this. All of a sudden I am a pretentious moron because I happen to like quirky movies.
Fair enough if you don't like a movie; you're entitled to your opinion. But no need to insult and accuse others of lying and putting on intellectual airs and graces, just because they claim to like it.
And it's not like Adaptation was that difficult a movie to understand, sure it was a bit twisty-turny and the humour mightn't be to everyone's taste, but different strokes for different folks.

Excellent movie. Just bought the DVD.

Go see Gozu by Takashii Miike. Come back when you finally figure it out, and let me know what it was all about!

/me doubts that it was about ANYTHING at all!

losthellhound 08-10-2004 09:33 PM

Doom Generation..

WTF??????

repeater 08-11-2004 03:39 AM

I don't think this really qualifies but the movie Osama left me feeling like that. Mostly because the reviews talked about how positive and uplifting it was, then it was just a depressing piece of crap.

Triplets of Belleville was also weird, but I really liked it.

I second the guy who said Happiness. That movie was majorly fucked up.

Seer666 08-14-2004 06:09 PM

Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter. After watching that, the onlu thing I could say is "The the hell is wrong with Canadians?"

trickyy 08-15-2004 08:27 PM

you guys have covered a lot so far

also check out other todd solonz movies (storytelling for one)
and one more by larry clark that's kinda cool - bully
the nine inch nails closure video had some crazy stuff in it if i remember correctly
and john waters = trashy

ive heard baise moi (sp?) is pretty crazy, but i haven't seen it

whocarz 08-16-2004 12:55 AM

Just saw these two, they definately make the list.
The Beast (no, not the movie about the Russian tank crew)
Erotic Nights of the Living Dead

tropple 08-16-2004 03:12 AM

I just watched The Hulk for the first time. The whole premise of who and what the Hulk is changed. The whole thing with nick nolte as the father and the hulk dogs were unnecessary.

What a catastrophe.

I saw the beast. I agree. It rated a big, "huh?" from me.
