The Coma by Alex Garland
Has anyone read this new-arrival yet? I read a blurb about it in Wired and decided to pick it up. I quickly finished it in 2-3 days (it's under 200 pages). I think he meant it to be read through like this because the chapters are extremely short, and I feel I got more out of the experience of reading it than from the story itself (if you know what I mean...)
I really enjoyed it for what it's worth. and recomend checking it out. Don't expect anything as "immediately-exciting" as The Beach, though it's a pretty interesting subject he writes about, and he accomplishes it well. -T
