Chinese and Japanese
I don't know if anyone have noticed this or not, but the hollywood portrail of chinese and japanese people are very different.
Most chinese roles tend to fall into 3 catagories: 1. Criminal gangsters - people in early 20's with links to Triad 2. Corrupt officals - people in late 40's to early 60's. Villians who want to crush presonal freedom for no good reason. 3. Uneducated elders - people in late 60's sitting the dirtest streets shouting cantonese Japanese roles are usually just old japanese man who speaks a few lines of heavely accented english who often end up as being very deep. I am sure many of you guys will say they are portrated this because because that is what they are. But I am still very curous as to how did hollywood gets these impressions of asians.
