FFVII Advent Children

I looked and didn't see a thread for this under entertainment. I've seen a trailer for the CGI movie that said coming in Summer 2004. Does anyone have any specifics on the movie's release date, or on the movie in general? Cuz the official site from Square Enix is in Japanese, which I'm sorry to say I can't read. SO looking forward to this movie.

I've got a thread about this in Tilted Gaming, but, as this is a movie as well as a gaming experience, I think it should exist in both. That being said, here's what I've found on IGN about it, as it will be shown in both DVD and UMD format, a test for Sony's new PSP.

According to IGN, the release date is still slated for sometime in 2005. Not precisely sure when the exact date is, but if you're interested here's IGN's coverage.

I'm not really looking forward to it. :( The trailers LOOK good, but don't really give me a sense of excitement for the series (mainly because it's a damn movie and not a game).

The monthly comic magazine reveals that outside of the Final Fantasy Advent Children DVD and Final Fantasy Before Crisis wireless game, Square Enix has plans for a huge title as part of its "Final Fantasy VII" project. The magazine goes on to state that "that character" will appear in the game, with what appears to be the shadow of Vincent in the background (Vincent was one of the lesser main characters in Final Fantasy VII).

This marks the first time that solid hints have appeared on further Final Fantasy VII titles from a major source. Previously, Square Enix posted advertisements on trains in Japan suggesting that more Final Fantasy VII could be in the works (for a look at that ad, see this IGN Wireless article).
We hope to hear more from Square Enix on the matter as the upcoming Final Fantasy VII titles near Japanese release later this year.

The interesting thing about this game is that, on IGN, it's aka Final Fantasy VII: Vincent Valentine. Now, I'm not saying that Vincent Valentine isn't a fucking amazing character, but I don't know if I could follow him as closely as I could Cloud.

I've been waiting for this ever sinec the first leaked photos came out. I will be seeing this no matter the cost.

Well, it's gonna probably come out in the U.S. straight-to-DVD/UMD so you're not gonna have to spend that much.

i dunno, vincent was the man, I imagine square enix could do alot with a game surronding his character. FF7 hinted to a lot of history and with Vincent. I could definently see a prequel in the works.

On a side note anyone heard anything else out about the movie, I heard Japan release is/was this summer and US news?
