Anyone know anything about this movie? There's a little bit of info here:

July 20, 2004 - Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, are currently hard at work on their forthcoming action-comedy/musical spy-thriller, Team America: World Police. You can check out a fresh batch of new images from the film by clicking the preview pics below.

The sure-to-be-crass tongue-in-cheek flick, which features marionettes acting out the story (just like the old-school Thunderbirds TV series), follows an elite special missions force that combats global terror.

Matt Stone recently told Variety, "I hate these new new Hollywood films that are CGI-driven. Trey and I loved that Thunderbirds series because of the artistry of the marionettes. It's amazing that a studio would make a movie out of and take out the only thing that was about the series."

"What we wanted to do," says Stone, "was a send-up of these super important huge action movies that Jerry Bruckheimer makes. ... The subtle joke here is that all actors are 'puppets.' This will probably piss off everyone in town, and might well be our swan song."

Team America: World Police may hit theaters as early as October 22nd, 2004.
Looks great. Can't wait to see it.

Sounds great. I absolutely adore the title!

Polyphobic 07-21-2004 01:16 PM

I can't wait. They can do no wrong by me.

ironchefkorea 07-21-2004 04:48 PM

call me ignorant, but I consider Stone and Parker to be among today's greatest social satirists.

-edit-

here's a link with a pretty good article about it...

I'd almost bet it makes more at the boxoffice than the thunderbirds movie does :)

Just a teaser, but I have a feeling its going to be hilarious. Especially since the creators of South Park are leading the project. I think they are doing everything for it, but im not sure. If anyone can find more info please share.

I have to see more to make a decision, but that looks like a good concept.

I will see it for sure

bltzkriegmcanon 08-03-2004 08:44 PM

I ain't feeling it ya'll. Thunderbirds-like puppets plus the guys who created South Park? I dunno.

BigGov 08-04-2004 12:00 AM

Wait a minute, first GTA, now a new movie by Parker and Stone? This is shaping up to be the best October ever.

Interesting article about this can be found Here

Is anyone else going to see this? Personally, I can't wait, and I'd DEFINITELY pay to see this in theatres. I don't know what it is about it, but it seems heavily political satire in a Thunderbirds sort of way. Also, due to the cheese factor, I'll for sure check it out. lol

BigGov 08-29-2004 07:34 PM

Definate must see for me.

I have loved everything Trey Parker and Matt Stone have ever done.

PulpMind 08-29-2004 08:23 PM

I fear republicans not getting the joke. =T
but for me, it will be absoulutely hilarious, I'm sure =)

Toecutter 08-31-2004 01:32 PM

Looks like noone is safe in this movie. both sides of the politial spectrum get theirs.

stonegrody 08-31-2004 02:06 PM

This looks pretty funny. I also like how Trey and Matt released "The Passion of the Jew" on the same day that "The Passion of the Christ" was released. Too funny.

Blistex 10-04-2004 06:26 PM

Is that Sean Penn in the trailer saying, "K-Plah" ?

Paradise Lost 10-04-2004 07:00 PM

I would go out and see it, but 7 bucks is alot of money for me. :) Hopefully it'll be in the cheap
seats when I come home for Christmas, or in March, when I come home again.
They are great satirists, and while they're way of going about with the satire is a little odd
sometimes, it sure does work and drive the point home. :)

I feel like a giddy school girl waiting for this soon-to-be-blockbuster!
