Just curious - anyone on the TFP ever win one? What was it for?

Ah, the No-Prize.
Back in those days when someone spotted a continuity error, they'd cook up a clever explanation and send it to the comics editor for a little recognition. Nowadays they just complain about it on the internet and say stuff like "why can't those writers and editors do their fucking jobs! That's it, I'm not reading Iron Man anymore. At least, not until next month so I can complain about it again!" Anyway, what was the question?

I wrote in for one once, but never got any kind of response. The way I interpreted it, it was a way for the editors togive the letter writer the finger for nitpicking while still acknowledging their dedication and effort. I think it was just a letter or some lame certificate. It was a prize, but not really a prize, hence "no-prize."

The good old days, these days there are too many errors a no-prize would be handed out daily. People seems to take reading comics too seriously these days, they bitch about everything. If you don't like it don't read it. I get sick of hearing people bash about how bad Austen is, I prefered his X-Men than Morrison.

I won a Marvel "No Prize" back when I was in high school. I think it was 1987 or so.
I got an empty envelope in the mail with a Marvel logo on it. That's all. I still have it in a box of crap someplace. if I can find it I'll can it and share it here.
