What did you think of Stepford Wives?

Well...I saw it with a female friend of mine this week and we both walked out going...."Ah. It was mediocre at best". I think they tried to hard and most of the jokes just fell flat. PLUS...there was a serious plot inconsistency that I won't say here because it may spoil part of a plot.

Anybody else see it? And what was your opinion?

Haven't seen it yet, and the only reason i will watch a movie that I would otherwise not touch with a 10 foot pole, is because of Walken. The man is simply a god.

2 female friends dragged me to see that movie. I told them that the movie looked awful... but noo, they didn't listen to me! Well, it turns out we all thought the movie sucked.

There were a few funny lines, but the movie was just tacky. There were huge plot holes and the ending was way too predictable.

Speaking as someone who loves the original, this one was pretty good. The original was very creepy and this one is a comedy, and I think it did a good job of following its own lead.

The most glaring issue I have concerns the scene where Spoiler: she sees her robot duplicate on the table. Considering how the movie ended, what was this thing?

I wondered the same thing. Still...all in all, I liked the movie. I thought that it was very funny. Although I don't really care for Matthew Broderick. He was an ass when he was in Omaha filming "Election". Still, even I have to admit that his deadpan ass was well cast for his role. And Nicole? Well, Nicole is hot no matter what.

Too bad it was played off as a comedy.

The original rocked.

As some comedian (who I can't recall now) asked, "Why do they remake good movies? It's the BAD movies that need a do-over."

I won't be seeing this one.

Yeah. Walken is great! But he doesn't have one of those "famous monologues" like he normally does in this movie. It was a little dissapointing.

EXACTLY!!! Because Spoiler: one minute they're women with chips in their brains and then the next they're robots? Which ones are they!?!? I was thinking that they were robots because of their movements but then he showed that movie and the women just had the chips. I got really confused
