The green is because in the film the vehicle is originally a military test vehicle. Wayne uses it and modifies to suit his purposes. This film is NOT aimed for 12 year olds, all current reports including one from Gary Oldman saying "it's gonna be an R by the looks of it" point to the film heading in a more adult direction.

Who the fuck makes this shit?!? I mean yea the thing goes 220 mph and can supposedly jump 20-40 feet. But it looks like a tank for the military! The batmobile alone is an excuse not to see this movie!!!

If this is true, they can have batman ride around on a pink scooter with Hello Kitty stickers on it and I won't really mind. Rock on. |
In general its kind of cool, but as the Batmobile it just plain sucks.
|
What in the hell.
|
dont hurt me, but I like it, a bit....
looks a bit like mad max to me... |
That's just about the supidest thing I've ever seen. Each Batman movie was worse than the one before it. How bad will this be?
|
It doesn't look too bad. Way different from the other movies.
I don't really care about the damn Batmobile, this movie is going to suck anyway. |
disgusting. wtf? i thought it was supposed to be a car...not a...i dont know what the hell that is
|
why don't we wait to see how its used in the movie before we criticize? I doubt we'll see this thing patrolling the streets of Gotham. Clearly this thing isn't for every night cruising. Probably not all that fast either. I'm sure it's not what he'll be cruising around in for the entire movie. Lets wait for the movie to hit theatres before we condemn it...
|
either somebody spends wayyyyy too much time designing this new bat mobile or not enough....
I hate it that it ruins the bat-like look the previous bat mobile have, but that the same time I like the futuristic-ish/tank armored vehicle. |
I guess they are sending Batman to Saudi with a car suped-up for sand dunes.
|
Oh thank god...it's not "the" batmobile. I would like to see what they do with it though and let's see if the movie is any good. So far...2 and 3 blew.
|
how can you say batman returns blew? 1 and 2 were the only good ones
Batman & Robin, & Batman Forever were the ones that blew for me anyway |
I vote no for the batmo-hummer.

Niiiiice. Bale's come along way from Empire of the Sun. This movie's gonna be so cool. (Even with the BatHummer)
|
I hope that's not his walking-around cape.
That thing's fuckin' huge! |
I like it, actually.
It looks more practical than sleek and sexy... and more based in reality than any of the cars used in the films. Besides, if I knew my car was going to get shot up, I'd rather be driving a tank like that than a modified Porsche. The purpose of the Batmobile isn't to be a sexy ride. It's supposed to be a war machine. As I understand it, anyway... |

Newsweek has an article on Batman Begins and there a small bit about the batmobile. You can read the entire article at the link, but here's the batmobile part:

Hm. Let's see... We've got:
Christopher Nolan, a fresh director known for taking stylistic risks. David Goyer, a writer who's a fan of and has respect for the comic book source material. A cast of top-notch actors including Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Katie Holmes, Ken Watanabe, Rutger Hauer, and Cillian Murphy. And a studio that's taking a hands-off approach this time around instead of demanding the introducion more happy-meal friendly designs and concepts. I think I'll go ahead and give this film the benefit of the doubt. |
You mean I can't expect the Batmobile Humvee to be in my Happy Meal? Damn, I guess I'll just have to be happy with counting my steps to the theater.
|
Looks like a cross between a Hummer and a DeLorean.
|
I love thee Frank Miller. I'll be happy as long as there aren't any foreign accents. Foreign accents = bad action movie.

Just a video of the unveiling of the new BatMobile, it's kinda hard to believe they okayed this design but I still like it. |

If you guys haven't read it, I suggest ya'll give it a look. |
Well, here's a pic of Bale as Bruce Wayne. Fucking perfect man. If there's anything that'll make this movie worthwhile it's gotta be Bale. http://appstate.edu/~bm48531/wayne.jpg
|
I kinda like it, although It just doesn't fit my vision for the batmobile. I'm looking forward to seeing this, as not raped by Joel "Please, shoot me and put me out of my talentless existence" Schumacher.

Oh my. This movie's gonna rock... or atleast it better. http://www.bizarremag.com/forum/atta...p?postid=61045 Christian Bale, next to Michael Keaton, is the quite possibly the best choice for Bruce Wayne, I could ever think of. |
That looks ugly as hell.
|
I like it. Kind of that big hulking piece of crap Batman drives around before he realizes he needs something a little more stealth.

People forget that there was never just ONE batmobile; Bruce Wayne made vehicles for different purposes and as technology advanced. I agree that it looks like Miller's vision of the bat-tank, which I actually think is a good thing and makes me hopeful that maybe, just MAYBE this won't be a POS like the last few movies in the franchise. Oh, and Batman: Year One was GREAT! |
That vehicle looks more like a MAD MAX nockoff. But being how this will be an origins story i will hold my disgust till see the trailer. It seems like the new batman will be rough and gritty...no polished body armour and shiny toys. If this movie is grimy like that with a whole lot of serious ass kicking then the new car will fit in fine.
