Movies better the second time around

What movies have you watched that are better the second time. Mine would have to be Fight Club and Butterfly Effect...

What are yours?

Fight club definitely, Ronin was another. The Game with Michael Douglas was good for #2 but tapered off from there. Memento and Stigmata, too.

Pulp Fiction. The first time through I was kinda confused by the way the timeline jumped around. It was much clearer to me the second time around.

The Matrix Reloaded is definitely a winner here. I thought it was ok the first time, but after I watched it a second time, I was obsessed. I saw it four times in the theaters and once in IMAX after that.

The Royal Tenenbaums. A great movie the first time round, but then you can peel away at all the different layers in the characters and their histories and relationships on your next ten-or-so views and it really enriches the experience. A really underrated film.

All these serious movies...I'm going to go with Monty Python & the Holy Grail The first time I saw it, I was laughing so hard I missed a lot.

Of course, the fifth or sixth time is even better, since by then you can go along line for line (which seems to annoy other people...damn...)

All the LOTR movies are better the second time around for me, especially if that second time is an extended cut where I can take piss breaks. Also, all the Matrix movies were much more enjoyable for me the second time around. You just pick shit up that you never noticed before.

I'll add Kill Bill and the Royal Tenenbaums, both already mentioned. The first Kill Bill really has this effect. Same with the Royal Tenenbaums. The Royal Tenenbaums is probably in my top 10 favorite movie list.

The Big Lebowski

I hated it the first time I saw it, but found it funny the second (and third, fourth...) viewings. I guess it's because I knew the story, so I could concentrate on all the verbal banter going on.

agreed with the royal tenenbaums... It seems as if the same term gets used over and over again "Underated"... Do you think this is becasue people see it and are like "WTF" and everyones like "Crappy film"... Maybe thats why people should give a second chance for alot of films.

Another one for me is Mr. Hollonds Opus... The film is amazing, it's got great character growth. But the first time you watch it you kind of get tired of watching the guy whine about his life but the second time you really see the story.

I enjoyed it first time, second time round I loved it. Third time.....best movie ever made!

Mulholland Drive. There is just so much of that movie that you won't catch first time round. Second and third viewing mandatory!

Ditto. I hated it the first time, but loved it the second time. Too bad the third one becomes worse after each viewing. That one just stinks.

Totally agree there. When I first saw it, I was a little let down from the reviews my friends had given it. But then a week later I felt the need to watch it again, and it was hilarious. Love it now.
