MTV or VH1?

I want to know which "music video" channel do you like better? I put music video in quotes because neither of them actually play music videos anymore.

I watch VH1 occasionally for shows like Ill-ustrated and Best Week Ever, but the I love the 80's/70's and all the top 100 countdowns are a little much.

Mtv has some entertaining shows like Viva La Bam and Wildboys, but I really hate Punk'd.

I'd chose MTV because they have a long line of shows that I loved growing up. Remote Control all the way!!

I suppose MTV for the purely mind-numbing shows when you just want to veg out because nothing else is on.
But that seldom happens when you have FUSE which constantly plays music.

I picked MTV because of the usual Video Wake-Up they have most every morning. I almost anti-voted it for VH1 though simply because of how spectacularly redundant TRL has become over the years.

I've always like VH1's programming better than MTV, especially the past few years, so I choose VH1.

I've added Fuse. watching the other networks is like tuning in to the cartoon network and watching nothing but flashy over-produced specials about how fucking fly the people who make cartoons are.

I work for MTV Networks for the past 7 years. I know how it works, I know why it works the way that it does. I know the producers and the decision makers.

If any of you have questions, I'll be happy to answer them via PM.

What is this "Fuse"? I have never heard of it. I just have MTV2, which is mostly videos, although I've caught them playing Beavis and Butthead from time to time.
Anyway, I chose VH1 because I Love The 80s and I Love The 80s Strikes Back are some of the funniest damn shows ever. Also, the 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs Ever was pretty good, although to put Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire" on there was sacrilegious.

Fuse used to be called muchmusic, and it was canada's answer to MTV. like most things canadian when compared to american equals, it was less flashy but more sensible and more along the lines of what it was originally designed for. They play lots of music videos and a few shows, but it's so much better than MTV.

Pop-Up Video, Behind the Music, I love the 80s...all reasons why I like VH1 better. It also seems like they play more videos than MTV...but then, I haven't watched MTV in a while.

Pop-Up Video is hard to beat, I gotta admit, but saying "Not even T.R.L." does no justice to its justified lack of credibility.

Fuse was nice because they tended to leave out the majority of the pussy music thats out there today and played a lot of stuff that wasn't as mainstream as the rest at the time. Oh yea, and they actually played videos, unlike fucking MTV does today with all of their "Spring Break" bullshit specials.

Here at Ohio State, we do get MTV-U which is specific to college students. Its more comparable to the way MTV2 used to be, in that they have fewer shows and play more music. It's better than MTV and VH1, and probably comparable to Fuse.

MTV would have got the voted because for a while after the superbowl they actually showed videos but due to them showing crappy shows again(or all of there shows in general) they lost my vote, my vote goes for the black and white all music stations int he 900 regions of digital cable

I would MAYBE like MTV if they played decent videos. But most of the videos they play suck, and can also be seen on ten other channels like BET. The shows they play when they aren't playing crappy videos suck too. I don't know how many different things can go on in the Real World that haven't already happened, and I might puke if I have to see Asston Kuntcher play another "punk" on someone.

Let me put this simple in my opinion.

MTV SUCKS

On that note, VH1 for the simply awesome shows for 80's and early 90's music.

We dont have this "Fuse" thing, and the only "Other" is CMT.. which.. well, just no.

I've been a big fan of Wildboyz and Real World/Road Rules: The Inferno. Great shows.

Other. MUCH MUSIC. Alot of good videos. Different shows that highlight rap, randb, punk canadian indy etc etc. Pretty good Dj's, afew shows for entertainment, and the "good" mtv shows. We need to add much, and much more, for the canadian tfp'ers.
