Invader Zim
We just got the Invader Zim DVD this weekend while we were out of town and watched it on his parents DVD player. While we were watching it, a strange camera icon appeared on the screen, and we could not get it to go away.
It happened on our DVD player at home, too. Has this happened to anyone else? I wonder if it is just a defect on our DVD, or it maybe there is an automatic setting on all of the DVD's that causes this.

Lotronex nailed it, I think. Try pushing enter when you see it. The matrix has an option that you can turn on where a white rabbit will appear during play, Vivid movies have the logo appear when an alternate scene is available, and several other movies use similar visual queues for various reasons. This is the first one I've heard of that's on by default though. It seems highly unlikely that it'd be a defect, as it's an additive problem with the dvd and not subtractive.

It's probably what has been said already. The Akira re-release had something like that too.
I did get a Plan 9 From Outer Space DVD a while back, and it had an annoying transparent logo in the corner of the screen during the movie, like the bugs on network TV. I found that if you tap the fast-forward button, it went away. If you can't disable the camera any other way, try that.

OK, I got a copy too, and I see what you're talking about. On my living room DVD player, a camera icon pops up in the upper-right corner every time the disc progresses to a new chapter, then goes away. My bedroom one, however, doesn't register anything. I do know that you can access the storyboard animatics by pressing the angle key, but that's more or less a constant thing, so I don't know why the player keeps reminding us of it.
