Have you seen Identity? (WARNING possible spoilers)
I saw it last night. Have mixed feelings about it. It was a pretty good, fairly suspenseful story, until the twist kicked in. IMO, the twist came too soon. There was about 20 mins left of the film after the twist (which I wont explain) was revealed. And from that point on, the rest of the movie felt like "big deal, so what" to me. And as a result, the little twist at the very end, which might have been good in another context, was fairly predictable and anticlimactic.
Im not sure how they could have told this story better. Had they revealed at the very beginning what was really going on, would you have cared to watch the film? Could they have somehow saved the twist until the very end? Perhaps, but they would have had to change the perspective away from John Cusack's character, who, in a sense, is the protagonist. those of you who've seen it, what did you think?

I didn't quite think about it until you said that, but see where you're coming from.
After the twist came, there was no more suspence, I just wanted to see who would live. That the kid did it, was not a suprise. I was thinking it was that little bastard since the boyfriend got knifed outside the bathroom door. If you listended hard you could here him ask "what are you doing here?" His voice sounded like he was talking to someone familiar. I don't know how they could have saved it, but that's why I'm not a movie writer. If they had revealed the twist early on, the movie would have sucked. I don't think I'd have cared very much. Until I knew what was going on I had set "real world" rules for the people in the hotel. After I knew, those rules were no longer valid because now we're in someone's head, so all bets are off. There were some interesting clues though. I liked the escaped convict that walked through the rain to end up looking right back at what he was running from. That really threw me.
