Am I the only one here who really likes Enterprise?

I really do enjoy this show and hate hearing that Fox is going to can it after this season. I hate to say it but I've enjoy the personal interactions between the characters on Enterprise more than any other Star Trek show.

Sigh... Fox is not high on my applause list. They've killed a lot of shows that I've truly enjoyed.

Fox? As in the network Fox?

It comes on UPN here, which I can't get.

It looks good from the commercials I've seen.

I don't think FOX has anything to do with it, it's on UPN. I enjoy the series, though it's a bit chaotic, and I'm affraid that the whole plot will turn out to be nothing more then an "alternative timeline". As far as I know, Enterprise is scheduled for at least one more season.

I believe it's a partial season. Probably to see how well it does. I unfortunately have tuned out. I discovered that if a show goes on hiatus (takes a few weeks off) and I don't miss it, that's a good sign to start watching something else. I hope they turn it around and make it more interesting.
It'd be nice if they could ditch t'pol's wig. The actress looks much nicer as her blonde self. A blonde vulcan?

The problem with Enterprise is the writing. It's like they have no idea where to go or what to do with the show.

The acting and interactions are great. The cast is outstanding, but the writing is just crap.

I just think that Berman and company at Paramount are trying to kill Star Trek off.

In fact one of the games companies even sued Paramount for not promoting Star Trek anymore and it is true they don't.

I like it as well...hell of a lot better than Voyager (but I do love Seven of Nine). Hope it stays on for its 7 year run like all new Star Treks and they finish it...all Star Treks...until I am like 80 and they can create a new one for the younger generation.

It is not great - could be a lot better. Of all the Star Treks spin offs I quite liked Deep Space 9. Although the best Si-Fi programmes were Farscape & Babylon 5

I just started watching Star Trek recently. Enterprise was actually what got me curious about the rest. I like Enterprise. Things could be better, but overall I enjoy the episodes and will be sad if they do decide to can it early.

I haven't TOS yet (I watched the pilot which was near unbearable... don't worry, I'll get to this eventually), but I have now watched all TNG and am starting season 3 of DS9. I think TNG was pretty solid throughout the whole show, and am warming up to DS9; there was just too much overacting in the first season as they built up the characters and I do wish Major Kira would stop walking around like she has a broom shoved up her ass. other than that, DS9 is shaping up pretty well. I look forward to watching the rest of DS9 and moving on to Voyager.

But back to Enterprise, I like the concept of making a prequel and its funny how the setting is so much more modern as they try to be Star Trek Retro. I wish the story lines could be a little more focused, and I'm really getting tired of the whole Xindi weapon thing. Just when the actors were starting to relax into their roles (the whole initial overacting thing), the Xindi weapon comes along and puts everyone (and by everyone I mean mainly Archer) back on edge.
And I think Jolene Blalock (or however you spell her name) looks so much better being T'Pol than her blonde self, but that's just my brunette over blonde prejudice coming out.

I like it. Initially I liked it a lot; then stupid Star Trek writing took over -- recycled plots, Klingons, all the rest. So I stopped watching after a while. But this season has been better -- the Xindi thing at least gives the show some focus and momentum, and so the scripts have been more interesting; the show is actually going somewhere.

Mind you, Berman and Co. have a lot to answer for. The idea of a prequel is good, because you can show how the Federation came to be, all the mistakes that humans made that led to the prime directive, finding interesting ways of introducing, slowly, all the races that we've known from earlier Trek. But instead we got Boring Starfleet Perfection every episode after the first ten or so. And most of the usual races showed up pretty quickly, with no surprises, although I liked the new version of the Andorrans. The Xindi storyline was necessary to literally get Enterprise out of the Standard Star Trek Universe where it was trapped.

egads! it is youth in your case or something else? I first watched TOS when it was was the only series (and still the best) carrying the Star Trek name and there was only the 1979 Motion Picture for the films.
I watched Enterprise until they moved to FOX, which comes in very poorly if at all at my parent's place. Never have had or wanted television since I moved from there so the last time I saw it would be early '03 off the top of my head.

The problem I see with enterprise is that it's a prequel to the other series and so that limits their options as to what to do when the series starts dying off.

When DS9 started dying, they introduced the Dominion, and gave the show the U.S.S. Defiant. The ratings shot up overnight.

When Voyager started dying, they knocked off Kes and gave us 7 of 9, then made the Borg an intrical part of the series and the ratings spiked.

Enterprise is limited in that though. Sure, they gave us the Xindi. But from what I hear, they will wrap that up at the end of the season. So then what?

Im my opinion, the best bet that Enterprise has is to start the Romulan Wars. It was those wars that led to the treaty banning the Federation from devoloping and using a cloaking device.

I love Enterprise! I love all of the Star Trek series, have been a fan for years, and Enterprise is just awesome! Unfortunately I've been so busy this year that I haven't been able to watch any tv at all most weeks. A week where I was able to watch that one hour of Enterprise was a good week as far as television was concerned. Now that it's summer, I'm getting back into watching scifi on a regular basis. If it weren't for Enterprise and Stargate, then I'd be dropping cable all together and using that money for other things which I need the money for.
I get it on UPN. I hadn't heard anything about it being canceled or anything until I read this thread. I hope it stays on for the full 7 seasons. It's a lot better than Voyager, and I was a fan of that. TNG and DS9 were awesome, and then TOS is classic. I also hope that they make more movies, though due to bad timing on when they've released them, the movies haven't done as well in the box office.
I don't know why Paramount would try to kill off Star Trek. It's a huge money maker for them, with guaranteed viewers and fans. You can't really say that about anything else you put on TV except for sports. Killing Star Trek would be as stupid as Fox's killing of many good shoes within the past few years, and as stupid as SciFi's killing of Farscape. You just don't kill off your best television shows.

So who saw the finale last night?

I thought it was very well done and I was extremely happy with it.

BUT!

spoiler to follow:-

Spoiler: I don't think I like this whole 'alien as a nazi' direction that they are going. I really hope they have a good storyline for this. I actually groaned when I saw the nazi flag, you could see the alien coming from miles away.

I saw it. It was very good up to the end. That part made me start laughing (reference to your spoiler).

Spoiler: Does anyone else agree that the time travel twist has been overdone in Star Trek?

They're really reaching for stories to tell on that show now..

Ugh.

I figure it's only a matter of time before it's cancelled now.
Get Berman and Braga OUT!
