Matrix Fans - YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!!!
The movie is Drive, from 1996.
It's a martial arts / gun fighting movie that is evidently done by the same guy who did the Matrix. I'm tellin' you that you will see the EXACT same fight moves and shit that you saw in The Matrix in 1999. It's simultaneously the worst movie ever and an incredibly awesome movie. It's got all of the logic flaws that you could ever desire in a movie. It's got all the stupid humor you never wanted. It's got fast, brutal fighting all over the place. It's got racial stereo types. It's got an INCREDIBLY sexy Brittany Murphy acting as a horny-as-hell motel owner. I tell ya... just her attitude made me wanna just turn off my TV and jack off right there. So it astounds me how this guy choreographed for this movie that obviously flopped, and then comes back 3 years later and does the same exact thing and starts a phenomenon. GO RENT THE MOVIE. If you're anything like me, then you'll laugh yourself silly at all the brutally dumb things that go on in this flick.

Ahh, yes. This is the one with martial artist/actor/Iron Chef Chairman, Mark Dacascos in it.
Unfortunately, Netflix doesn't seem to carry this movie. I'll try Blockbuster. Thanks for the recommendation, Hal.

Halx,
who are you saying "did" this movie? I can't find anyone via IMDB that shows up as having worked on both movies. While it still may be a silly movie, and Matrix may have ripped it off, it's still part of the hollywood homogeny that everything is really pretty much the same. Woo-ping Yuen or Yuen Wo Ping who did the fight choreogpraphy doesn't appear in the credits of Drive. http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0950759/

Well then.. Yuen Wo Ping is a rip-off artist because I saw the exact same kicks, punches and camera angles in Drive that are in The Matrix. Not to mention, the bad guy dressed exactly like neo.

This is one of my all time favourite movies! i've had it on DVD for a couple of years now.
I've been trying to spread the word, but no one would listen! Mark Dacascos is way under-rated

As a huge Matrix fan, I wonder if this was the inspiration of the Watchoski (sp?) brothers before making The Matrix..
Hrm..better check it out ~!
