Here in Perth, we pay anything from $3 to $15. Cheap cinemas show movies that are about a month old for around the $3 to $7 mark. The mainstream cinemas (Hoyts, Greater Union, Reading) charge around $8-10 for a child, and $8 - 15 for an adult. It seems our movies work out to be cheaper than seeing them in the US.

TOO DAMN MUCH!!!
.. unless it's a movie I just have to see at a decent theater I try and save 5 bucks and go to the dollar theater whenever the movie makes it there. Unfortunatly that could be anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months and once you've seen the two movies they offer for the month you're out of luck! |

we almsot never go to the theatres that don't give the student discount... so i'm used to paying between 5 and 6 bucks for first-run movies. we also have these souvenier cups produced by the local chain here... buy it for 3.50 and get dollar refills all year. it works out alright.

Prices here were just dropped .50 to 5.50 and 8.50. According to the newspaper they did a survey of other theatres in the immediate area (Peoria, Iowa City, Rockford) and they lowered prices to be more in line with prices in those cities.

Matinee Student: $5.50, regular student $6.50.
I used to bitch about how I remembered movies for $3.00, but then my mother told me about movies for $0.10. Ah well. Our children will look fondly back at these days as they are paying $20 for Fast and Furious 10.

6.50$canadian at the rainbow cinema downtown which has movies 1 or 2 weeks later. it used to be 10$ at silvercity and 4.50$ at rainbowcinema which really made a big deal but now it's almost not worth going downtown.

war, I hate Carmike with a passion.
We pay 5.25 for a matinee, and that seems to be the standard price regardless of what chain we go to. I don't even know the prices for evening shows because I refuse to pay more than matinee prices. Every once in awhile hubby and I will go to the dollar theater (which is actually 1.50).
