Worst episode ever... a Simpsons question
 

Who is your favorite non-central Simpsons character and why?

My favorite (at least at the time of this post) would be comic book guy. He reminds me too much of people I have known in the past and never fails to disappoint with some dry yet insult.

Currently It's Ralph Wiggums, the episode where he peed in his pants automatically got my vote. :lol:

I am fond of the Sea Captain.
"Yarr, I...don't know what I'm doing."

Let's face it the periphery characters are way funnier than the Simpson women (Lisa, Marge Maggie).

Mr. Burns, Fat Tony, Troy McClure, Otto, Skinner, the list goes on...

True but you could never build an entire show around the supporting cast (an episode sure but not the entire show). Such is the reality of supporting characters. They usually get the best lines.

You can never go wrong with Ralph Wiggum- nearly everything he says cracks me up.

"Me fail English? That's unpossible!"

I've always wanted to see more of Homer's brother. He was a great character and always made me laugh.

Maybe he's more of a guest star (Danny Devito) than a supporting character, but damn he was funny.

Otto is pretty cool too.... POISON RULES!

I like Flanders - I loved the episode when he went crazy. Special mention to Lenny and Carl who have had their moments, and if Barney is back off the wagon, perhaps he'll return to form...

Does C.M. Burns count as a non-central character? Exxxcellent.

Cletus, the Sea Captain, Wiggum and Ralph the list is just too long in my opinion. :)

I'm a big fan of Milhouse, Comic book guy, Chief Wiggum & Ralph Wiggum, and drunken Barney.

Definitly Hans Moleman. I love the film festival episode where they show him getting hit in the balls with a football. Classic!

My favorite is Ralph Wiggum.

I have to mention Gil, the man who can't catch a break or hold a job.

How bout the 80's hair band that no one can identify?

I like Dr Hibberd. That guy's a psycho waiting to blow.

The janetor Willie (willy??) has never let me down with the humor. He always does something great.

There are way too many, Moe, Professor Frink, The Sea Captain, Lionel Hutz (Phil Hartman at his finest), Lenny and Carl (he's an Urban Lenny) and Apu.

That's Lou. He's one of the best too. You can't go wrong with the entire Wiggum clan either.

The non-central characters often get the funniest lines, but they're not developed enough to actually hold a story together. Don't get me wrong, I love the Simpsons family, but most of my favourite quotes are not theirs.

Groundskeeper Willie, Moe, Mr. Burns & Professor Frink. Can't choose an absolute fave...

Ralph has probably the best one liners of any show ever... I love that idiot

I like chief wiggum and mr burns, his use of archaic language is super funny

Martin's jokes are all pretty brilliant...

The bullies are sometimes brilliant too.

Some of my favorites are duff man, smithers, gill, snake, moe, hans moleman, rod and todd flanders, and frank "grimey" grimes. All great characters.

Barney rules!!!!! Duffman is pretty cool too.

Also, that non-descript guy who's always saying 'Hey buddy.'

'Hey Buddy, do yourself a favour, invent yourself some underpants!'

Groundskeeper Willlie gets my vote.

I like the episode where thier singing and Willie is driving the tractor drunk
He eventually gets stuck in the pool
