Kill Bill Vol. 1 screen flickers

I just watched Kill Bill for the first time on DVD.

Throughout the movie, and even in the main dvd menu, I kept having the screen go black for a few seconds on and off. The dialogue keeps going, but the picture goes black. I still see the blackouts if I"m fastforwarding, but I don't see them if I'm rewinding.

I first assumed that this was due to flashback memory or something, and was intentional.... but it happens in the main menu as well, I have to move the mouse pointer around to see anything...

I've been trying to figure out if my video card is screwed up or the movie is just like that... someone told me that it was supposed to be in there..

Someone please confirm whether or not this is intentional...

if you have the dvd, check out about 48 minutes into the movie... the scene where she's meeting Hattori Hanso... during that chapter there was alot of flickering, particularly when the assistant comes out to the front.

thanks

I have this problem sometimes, and it's often due to my svideo that's been jiggled a bit lose by time/the cat/the subwoofer/ghosts whatnot. This doesn't really help if you're watching them on your computer, but on the off chance you're hooked up to the tv, thought I'd throw it in.

I'm baaaaack!

My dvd player just puts a picture on the screen that makes you think it was submerged in water.

I feel your equipment pain.
