Who are your favourite directors?
Im a big fan of Wes Anderson, Terrance Malick and The Coen Bros.
|
Steven Spielberg.
|
For me, it's a toss up between Joel Coen (of the Coen Brothers) and Woody Allen. I'm also tempted to add Terry Gilliam to that list. I'd probably add M. Night Shyamalan, too, if he had made more movies...
|
Tim Burton - he's a genious
|
|
I'm going old school with this one... John Ford.

Ford was a master.
Sam Peckinpah had his moments. Terry Gilliam is my favorite. |
John Huston
D.W. Griffith Charlie Chaplin Fritz Lang - the very mention of his name should be enough edit: and John Ford as well hard to think of living directors or people that did/do all Colour films. |
Woo! Someone who likes old movies! (Speed_Gibson)
Anyways: Big fan of Charlie Chaplin, I like Orson Welles, John Ford if only for the Quiet Man, and, in terms of Great Cinematography + Sweet Epic = David Lean. Made them better than WhathisFace Peter Jackson any day of the week. Most other newer directors (post 1975) seem to use cheap tricks to lure the audience into thinking the movie is something better than it is (except in the case of the Original Original Star Wars, which I can never seem to get enough of.) Watch a good classic is like reading book. Just better. |
Some great names there cant argue with many.
Few years back had to be Francis ford and Scorsese. |
Tim Burton
|
Peter Jackson all the way!
|
Akira Kurosawa
Quentin Tarantino Peter Jackson Tim Burton Stanley Kubrick |
