Over a year later, and still no Kill Bill box set. What are they waiting for? There is no way that these are the final versions. The featurettes are thin, thin, thin. I just won't buy these movies until I get some content worth owning (besides the films of course)

The Digital Bits posted on 2/9/05 in their rumor mill:

Finally, our sources are telling is that Miramax's forthcoming special editions of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill films are tentatively due in August. We'll post more as it comes in.

Kill Bill 1 and 2 are both out on DVD in Japan in one set, which means there are torr....

Never mind. I saw them both on DVD and they do seem incomplete if distributed separately. They are one movie, and should be released as such. The extras don't matter to me at all.

kofspades 05-13-2005 06:42 PM

Exactly, as long as the movie comes on the dvd. Screw the extras. How many times do you watch them? There are exceptions like the Lord of the Rings extended editions that include more scenes. Other than that, why should I care what goes on "behind the scenes"?

why should you care? you shouldn't, if that doesn't interest you. for some folks, the extras on the DVD are a major selling point. me, i bought both of the Kill Bill DVDs. if there's enough cool extra stuff on the box set, i might upgrade (it would have to be a lot of cool extra stuff, though).

the whole deal with Miramax breakin away from Disney probably helped to delay the box set release. Now that it is settled for the most part, hopefully that August date is true and will hold.

the rumor mill on the digital bits site had this to say on 5/25/05

By the way, we've learned that Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill: Special Editions, which had very tentatively been planned for release in August, have been delayed until later in the year.

That is exactly why I don't buy DVDs.

People go out and buy the 2 volumes and then they turn around and release this ultra edition box set... eh, no. I don't play that game.

That's when they get downloaded.

Kostya 06-03-2005 03:42 AM

I knew it was worth waiting. Still, Miramax are sons of bitches for making me wait.

Locobot 06-04-2005 01:22 AM

I can't wait for the 2 volume set to come out so I can get the originals for next to nothing. When I found out that there are actually suckers out there who buy the same movies multiple times I was, well flabbergasted.

Kostya 06-06-2005 03:38 AM

Man, the release of the special edition 2 disc Scarface left me feeling so violated...
