book publishing errors
I recently read a hardback copy of Timothy Zahns' "Star Wars: Survivor's Quest" (a pretty good book, imo) and noticed that the cover was attached upside down.
In other words, If you put it in a bookcase, with the spine to where you could read it, then opened it up to read from a page, the words would be upside down. I was wondering if a book like this would ever be considered a collectible, because of errors, or would it not be considered a "serious" enough genre to rate anything? Also, have any of you noticed any book errors of your own? |
if it's a hardbound with dustjacket first printing, you may have something truly collectible.
Otherwise, IMHO it's just something that is neat, and possibly you may find a buyer on Ebay if you marketed it right. |
It will also depend, in no small part, on the number of "defective" copies that are out there. If everyone that they printed is wrong, then...nothing. If they caught the error after, say...a couple of hundred, and of those only a few made it out of the door...then yeppers, you might have something. Just put it up somewhere, and let your great-grandkids worry about it.

Although, I suspect it is because of the adverts in the bookclub newsletter. Quote:

Yes, google is usually friendly. ;)
I can't find a number line or a letter. I wonder if on occasion they don't put anything at all? Once again, thanks for your help, Cyn. :) |
I have a star wars shadows of the empire action figure, It's Leia but the package is for chewie. I thought it was pretty cool but i don't think it was worth much. It'd still hold onto it for a while :)
