appleseed CG

If you care anything about the future of CG movies, then you will have to see this movie, from what I understand, it is somewhat of a remake of Master Shirow's 1988 cell animated feature. but way better. it comes out in Japan on 4/17 and if i had the cash, I would definately fly to Japan just to see this. You can check out these trailers at http://www.a-seed.jp/trailers/index.html

*bump* cause this is going to be the bomb, and no one seems to care.

Actually, I remember watching appleseed about 6 years ago, I guess. It was pretty damn cool, and the trailer looks awesome.

That trailer looks awesome. I've never heard of this movie, but would definately see it. Too bad my chances of seeing this on the big screen are zero, unless the local theatres all the sudden turn cool.

i saw something on this not too long ago.. amazing animation and it's going to be more groundbreaking than Akira.

it depends on where you live i guess, there are small theatres near the big University, in Seattle that sometimes run anime. hoping for it.

this is CG, not cell animation, while AKIRA is still one of the BEST in my opinion, I think it was already surpassed by 'Ghost in the Shell' and will be surpassed again by 'Ghost in the Shell: Innocence'
here are some of those trailers

That looks awesome!!! If it's playing in a theater near me I'll be there.

I didn't like the old Appleseed movie, but this looks to be a lot closer to the real Shirow feeling. Definitely something to look forward to!

sorry didn't mean to imply that it was regular animation, but more so that it the visual style and technology upped the bar so far that it pushed the genre into a direction.

yes, forgot about Ghost in the Shell as well, I didn't see it as often as Akira. thanks for the link for the upcoming.

no need to apoligize, the mediums are just different.

and oh yeah the bar was raised extremely high with AKIRA. but if Otomo didn't push for a film of that magnitude, then the others might have seen the potential of their own works, so very glad he did.

I really hope it isn't a remake of the original anime, as that was a horrible butchery of Appleseed Book 2.

I've seen the trailer and am waiting with baited breath.
