Average Jill??

I remember reading that fox might do an average jill..

For those that do not know the premise of average joe/jill, it's a reality based dating show. The show brings in an attractive girl/guy and have then date average looking ppl of hte opposite sex. Problem is, the attractive ppl aren't expecting average looking ppl..

Question i have is: How will a guy do on average jill. I think guys are way more superficial compared to women. That's why i don't think the average women would have the same chance an average joe would get on Average Joe.

oh and yes i know all guys are different but i think on average your average guy is more superficial compared to your average girl.

Well the "average" guy from Average Joe 1 is getting his own show starting in 2 weeks (Called "Average Joe: Adam Returns")

We'll see how that goes.

But the difference is that Adam's an "average guy". Now put a good looking guy in the show and have him choose between teh hot/average woman.

I don't think that the average Joes stood much of a chance either. I can't imagine it'd be much worse the other way around.

Does it really matter? It is just another scam by the TV companies. I have lost all faith in people falling in love for their personality instead of looks. And just like every other reality TV show, it will end up with the couple spliting up. I am done with reality TV shows.

Doubt it would work. If they put an average joe insead of some hot guy then the hot women wouldnt really care to compete and if you put the good looking guy then he would go for the hottest woman there like most other guys

I think that in this situation, the show would fail because people have more of a problem watching unattractive women than men. Men seem to be able to overcome physical averageness with good acting ability and personality, women have just begun to accomplish this.
In real life however, I think that women are just as superficial if not more so than men. Men are not as picky as women when it comes to looks, our standards are lower.

Average JILL? It would last until the hottness showed. Then it's over.

Of course, the first Averaqe JOE went the same way, didn't it?

moonstrucksoul 03-02-2004 02:34 PM

my wife thought they should have an "Average Jane", but I said that if i wanted to watch average women slut themelves for the affections of a man, i would watch 'Elimidate'.

Kaos 03-02-2004 04:41 PM

I think it would go pretty much the same way as Average Joe...The most physically unattractive will go first (overweight, bad teeth, nerdy, whatever) and the rest will get weeded out until the Hot Woman is picked at the end.

That or it will be a humongous disaster.

This makes me wanna put a gun in my mouth.

wordssmith22 03-02-2004 06:16 PM

it would not work. not cuz the guy who gets to pick would kill himself first (though that's likely too), but no one would really watch it, except to see chicks get embarassed. shallow hal doesn't need to become a reality show

that being said, i'd watch it. or hit it. whichever works

johnsmith 03-03-2004 12:22 PM

Can't we just hold auditions and casting try-outs for reality shows and then just kill everyone who shows up?

Xenomorph 03-04-2004 06:58 PM

Wasn't the whole premise of Average Joe the fact that he was just a regular workingman instead of the gazillionaire he pretended to be?

No matter. I think a bunch of men would compete over almost any woman if she were made the big prize. Attractiveness obviously accomplishes that in the real world, but a TV-show rule format where "if you get her, you win" would be enough motivation for people to at least play the game.
