Yeah, a bit predictable since imdb and various other movie news articles kept stating Mischa Barton no longer wants to be on the show because she wants to concentrate on her movie career.
If only Ryan stopped the vehicle and beat the living shit out of Volcheck. |

Caught the last 20 minutes of OC between watching Sopranos DVDs (I'm in the middle of Season 2). I've only been watching every month or so since mid season 2, and this episode illustrates why quite well. The show isn't what it was. If thes other actors had decent agents, they would have been hit by Volcheck, too. It'd be a shame to see gifted actors hosting "So You Think You Can Dance?" is 5 years.

So she could pursue her movie career. Someone like her agent should let her know she's not a good actor.
So what's going to happen next fall, are we really going to start concentrating on Marissa's younger sister. That would suck, she is worse than Marissa. |

Will... that was in the 80s when you could make an action film with little to no talent.
If Mischa is lucky she will continue to make money modelling and if she is *really* lucky she will get the opportunity to make a couple of films. I haven't seen anything resembling the kind of talent she requires to take her the distance let alone 20 to 30 years. Without the OC as a marketing angle on her career she is just another pretty face. There are thousands of those in Hollywood.

According to IMDB, she's got 3 movies slated for release in 2007... she'll slide into oblivion shortly thereafter...
Now the question I have is - why are supposedly grown men watching a teenybopper television show?

I haven't watched the OC seriously since the first season. At that time, I was impressed with the writing. It's ability to deliver a cross generational prime time drama was relatively unprecedented (and if that doesn't work, it is my job to know what's on TV).
This year, I have only watched a couple of episodes and only tuned into the season finale because I'd heard someone was going to die. It was a surprise to me because I had no idea that Barton was trying to leave the series. I agree that if she doesn't "make it" with these three films, she will be outta there.
