No meniton of STDs with no condom either...

OMG! They just killed Marisa...

You bastards!

Jove 05-18-2006 06:12 PM

Yeah, a bit predictable since imdb and various other movie news articles kept stating Mischa Barton no longer wants to be on the show because she wants to concentrate on her movie career.

If only Ryan stopped the vehicle and beat the living shit out of Volcheck.

Willravel 05-18-2006 09:17 PM

Caught the last 20 minutes of OC between watching Sopranos DVDs (I'm in the middle of Season 2). I've only been watching every month or so since mid season 2, and this episode illustrates why quite well. The show isn't what it was. If thes other actors had decent agents, they would have been hit by Volcheck, too. It'd be a shame to see gifted actors hosting "So You Think You Can Dance?" is 5 years.

So she could pursue her movie career. Someone like her agent should let her know she's not a good actor.

So what's going to happen next fall, are we really going to start concentrating on Marissa's younger sister. That would suck, she is worse than Marissa.

Since when do you need talent to be a rich and famous actor? Governor Arnold made hundreds of millions of dollars in his career. All you need is a gimik: Micha is gorgeous. She could easily milk 20 years from her looks. If she acts up now and then, maybe even 30.

Charlatan 05-23-2006 04:07 AM

Will... that was in the 80s when you could make an action film with little to no talent.

If Mischa is lucky she will continue to make money modelling and if she is *really* lucky she will get the opportunity to make a couple of films. I haven't seen anything resembling the kind of talent she requires to take her the distance let alone 20 to 30 years.

Without the OC as a marketing angle on her career she is just another pretty face. There are thousands of those in Hollywood.

According to IMDB, she's got 3 movies slated for release in 2007... she'll slide into oblivion shortly thereafter...

Now the question I have is - why are supposedly grown men watching a teenybopper television show? :D

Charlatan 05-23-2006 04:36 AM

I haven't watched the OC seriously since the first season. At that time, I was impressed with the writing. It's ability to deliver a cross generational prime time drama was relatively unprecedented (and if that doesn't work, it is my job to know what's on TV).

This year, I have only watched a couple of episodes and only tuned into the season finale because I'd heard someone was going to die. It was a surprise to me because I had no idea that Barton was trying to leave the series.

I agree that if she doesn't "make it" with these three films, she will be outta there.

Because 90210 went off the air when I was in college?

I was surprised to find out most of the actors on the show are older than I am. The dude who plays Ryan is like 28, Seth is like 26, and Summer is 24. I'm only 22. Also, it's a way to relive an idealized high school vicariously. It's the same reason people watch most anything on TV. Still, it's a good point. I don't think the show is well written, acted, directed. I love the cinematography.

Is anyone else still watching this show? I am. I don't fully know why.

I do on occasion. After the train wreck last season, I am really laughing my ass off watching the writes try desperately to make up for the loss of one of the main characters. I will admit that Autumn Reeser is absolutely breathtaking. It's funny because when you watch the show you feel like, "Hmmm...jailbate...", but Autumn is 3 years older than I am, so I'm in the clear.

Sharon 12-31-2006 03:48 AM

Autumn - she plays Taylor, yes? There is something very fascinating about her, I can't decide if I'd rather be like her or Summer. They are both stunners. I have a thing for Sandy Cohen myself...

Well, since you hate the show then you should be happy to know Fox is canceling the show on February 22, 2007.The O.C. Canceled

Sharon 01-03-2007 06:32 PM

Noooooooooooooooooo!

Well I suppose my life will carry on, but I would have liked it to continue longer.
