Simpsons Movie
http://www.cinescape.com/0/editorial...his_cat=Movies
DVD Fanatic has an interview with THE SIMPSONS producer Mike Reiss and landed a whopper of a scoop: word that development on a SIMPSONS theatrical movie is underway and that there's even an estimated release date for the project! "It’s been 13 years of wanting to do THE SIMPSONS Movie," explained Reiss to DVD Fanatic. "Finally FOX said, 'Let’s just do it!' We never had the greatest idea that was compelling but FOX said, 'Maybe if we start paying you, you’ll get inspired.' And sure enough it worked! We’ve got a very good and interesting idea and it’s different from the show. You know, it’s like the SOUTH PARK movie where it’s just a bigger, longer, amplified version of the show. I can’t tell you anything specific about it. My wife doesn’t even know the secret." Reiss estimated that we could wind up seeing THE SIMPSONS on the silver screen as soon as the summer of 2006 or possibly during that year's holiday season. "It's a reality after being just sort of this phantom idea," adds Reiss. "I think it is really gonna happen." 2006? can't wait! |

But anyways, I'll anxiously await the movie. I don't think that they could fuck anything like this up, since every episode is something new. The movie will just be like another episode...only lasting about an hour and a half this time.

They seriously need to convince Conan O'Brien to contribute to the script. Otherwise severe suckiness will ensue. He was the best thing that show ever had going for it.
I still love the Simpsons, but miss the Conan episodes.

i hope that it is great, is it just me or is 'the Simpsons' losing its' massive audience, and appeal? i feel that way, I still love the show, but i am not highly motivated to watch every week.

please please please...
don't have the same slapstick homer that's been playing for the past few seasons. it's really weak and it's the thing that has killed the series the most for me, as an avid fan. hopefully they get back on track, like the guy said with Conan, and all that. |

This is way overdue. I predict, if it is good, that it could cause sort of a "Simpsons renaissance," which would be totally cool.

You know why? It's incredibly hard to come up with new material for a half-hour episode if you've been running a show for years and years and years. This movie, though, should allow for some of that classic feelin' to get back in =)

Never been a big simpson's fan, but I do know alot of people who don't like them. I try to watch the show when I can, especally the older eps, classic. I'd love to go see it on the big screen. As for it not being to swtich mediums, the same thing was said about south park and it fucking rocked. I think they can do it and I can't wait to see it.

This will either be really great, or an absolute tragedy. I am definately hoping for great. As homer says, I want them to keep on making the simpsons until it becomes unprofitable, and hopefully this movie keeps teh profits pouring in
