The Triplets of Belleville

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
Absolutely one of the BEST movies EVER made!

http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony/t...bellville.html

and was utterly dissapointed it did not get more recognition from the media or the Academy. I think the only thing it got nominated for was best animated film (which is rediculous to have it up against something like Finding Nemo, which is the obvious choise for those Disney loving fucks) (not even best foreign!) (which it rightfully should of been nominated for, and should have won for it's ingenious new style of animation).

Incredible movie.. not many movies with so few words can be so moving, say so much... but this movie carried my emotions in every direction. It was sad, happy, funny, tense... action, adventure, comedy, drama...
One of the best movies of recent years, and probably the best animated film in the last 10 or 50 years (seriously).
not so much a childrens' movie as a movie for anyone living life... not for everyone, of course... you have to have the ability to enjoy art and fine story telling ;)

4am... time to retire.. just wanted to spew on about my new favorite movie...

It's opening this weekend in my area, and I will definitely be there to see it. I've heard sort of mixed reviews, but I am intrigued anyways, it looks fascinating.

I saw a preview for it at the local art-house theater. I plan on going to see it when I head back homr from college.

I saw the commercial and was intrigued. Ill have to watch it whenever i can.

I really want to see it, but unfortunately it isnt playing anywhere around me :(

PulpMind 02-13-2004 05:22 PM

yah that is kind of a downside of it... it's french (even though they speak about 3 french words the whole film), so getting it to be released to the major theatres is near to impossible =(
such a great movie though, that deserves to be seen on the big screen for it's amazing art...

and the opening short film is very intruiging as well... far more abstract and artsy.. and surreal in that it was created almost a hundred years ago..

After a lot of waiting, I got to see it today- I had to drive to an out-of-town theater and see it at 2 o'clock, which was the only time it was running. I really loved it, especially the attention to little details- like the frog who already had two legs blown off.:D

This particular theater didn't run the Dali short before or after the movie, and I was sorry to have missed it. Hopefully it'll appear on the DVD.

I don't know much about the movie, the song that was nominated for best original song got me pretty interested though... It was pretty damn good. I'd like to see it.

I'm wanting to go see this, the only previews I saw of it where what they showed at the oscars, but it looks like a very creative film. The music caught my attention also.

PulpMind 03-04-2004 03:28 AM

Go to http://apple.com/trailers for the trailer to the movie.. does't say much for the pace of the movie, but it will probably make you want to go see it even more =)

I knew I should have seen this. Damn.

Tholo 03-05-2004 11:42 PM

this film rocks my fragile world.

pta200 03-08-2004 08:54 AM

Yeah, the movie is totally weird and lots of fun. I had no idea what I was getting into when I saw it, and I laughed my way threw it. The dog's dreams are hilarious.

Disney sucks, and they merely distribute Pixar's films, they don't make them. Pixar deserves all of the credit for Finding Nemo (which was good), not Disney. :P

Late at night on MTV-U I saw a video for the ToB song, that was done by some fellow who I'd never seen or heard before, but the video was fucking AWESOME. All of these little animated men running around everywhere that looked like him, it was one of the funniest, creepiest, most brilliant fucking things I'd ever seen. Unfortunately, I havent seen it since.
