I think that depends on whether or not he deceived FOX. If he disclosed that info at the beginning, then FOX is monumentally stupid for promoting someone like that as an all-American role model. If he lied and didn't tell them about it, then FOX has got to seriously re-evaluate their background checking procedures as this type of thing keeps popping up season after season.

And people wonder how rumors get started.

Quote:
He then grabbed the woman's hand and pulled an engagement ring off her finger and "stated he was also going to take their son," cops reported. When Savol "grabbed the baby," Martin "stopped him from taking the child by telling [Savol] that she was going to call 911." At that point, according to the police report, Savol shoved Martin, pulled a phone from her hand, and then threw it at Martin, striking her in the chest. "This caused the phone to break," the report notes. Savol and his brother then left the residence.
I've read it several times, and I just can't seem to find the "beating" part.

Quote:
Verbaim from the police report-"The victim still stated that she and the baby were not hurt in any way
Not much of a beating if no one was hurt.

Sad say for America

Music is art. So now we're dishing out a new "Artist" every season of American Idol? That's ridiculous... What we're really dishing out is a corporate lacky of pop culture, meant only to make money and provide cheap entertainment. Not everyone is an artist, but we should assume that just because someone has a nice voice they can convey the emotions of the soul? come one, we all know Kelly Clarkson doesn't write her own songs! None of the winners do. They're simply pretty, money-making faces and voices. gimme a break.

Ah yes, the Christly Scott Savol, patron saint of "Yo, shut the fuck up, bitch!" His holy relic will be the telephone receiver.

...Hello everybody, this is Ryan Seacrest. Up next is Scott Savol, and tonight he will be singing Blondie's "Call Me."

Savol will stay on the show...for now anyway..I think he'll be voted off within a couple of weeks. I am pulling for Carrie to win it all.
Bottom 3 this week: Anthony, Scott, Nikko
my guess is that Anthony is gone...hopefully anyway...he annoys me(not as much as Paula, but that's a whole other rant)

Yeah I think Federov or Scott are gone this week. Federov might still have whatever group it is he attracted in the first place still voting him in like crazy though. But those 3 are more than likely the next up on the chopping blocks to get voted off in the coming weeks..them and Vonzell or Anwar.

I have to say I am glad that I was too busy the past few days to make a predicition about last night's show, because I would have been wrong wrong wrong. While I agree with Sensei that we can't be too surprised that Nikko was kicked off (since he had already been booted once), I have to say that I wouldn't have put him in the bottom three going. I thought his song was prolly the best thing he's done to date.

By bottom three (based on Tuesday's performances) would have been Federov, Nadia and Scott - with Federov gettin' the boot. I guess it's a testament to the tweenies out there who love the Trachea boy and vote maniacally. I think he has also helped his cause a bitover the past few weeks by losing the glasses and butching up a bit.

I was completely surprised by Vonzell being in the bottom three, she's talented, beautiful and her performance this past week was quite good...especially when compared to Nadia's - my God, those last three notes of Nadia's were torture to my ears.

I still think the three worst singers are Federov, Nadia and Savol (in that order).

See ya Nikko *again*. I didn't expect him to be booted before Anthony and the big guy (Is his name Mike?), but it was eventual.

My thoughts on the remaining are:

Bo & Nadia are my favorites and IMO who I would like to see win just simply because they're different. So I'm rooting for those two.

Carrie: Yeah sure she's a good singer, but she's seems like everyone else in the music industry. That's why I like Nadia over her.

Vonzel: Same deal as with Carrie; they'll both get contracts sometime.

Anwar: Is it just me, or has he started to annoy others as he gets further? I don't know why, but his voice is kind of irritating now..

Anthony: My mom liked him in the beginning, but he's gone down hill.

Mike: Should have already been gone. We all know he's not going to win.

Constantine: I don't know what it is about this guy, but he is the most annoying person I've ever seen on tv. I'm serious! He's more intolerable than Urkel. I literally have to turn away when he's performing because his googly eyes are so disgusting. We all can guess I want him out.

If I'm forgetting anybody, it's because they're not going to win. I don't know if I am or not..

On some other message boards, people think that the voting doesn't matter and producers are kicking out whomever they want. That it's all fixed. What do you guys think about that?

I was hoping someone was gonna tackle The Phantom since Ryan dropped the name. But I don't think any of them actually could sing anything from The Phantom. I dunno why Ryan dropped The Phantom though...I mean is it really a musical? I mean I thought something like Fiddler On The Roof was a musical not "The Phantom". Maybe Ryan is just an idiot.

The Phantom of the Opera is indeed a musical. I've seen it live, twice. It was fabulous. You should check it out. Maybe Ryan is not an idiot? Seriously, I thought Carrie could have sung something from The Phantom.

Well technically "The Phatom of the Opera" is an opera, as there is no dialogue and it is all sung, but due to the lack of traiditonal recitative/aria, or particularily spohisticated orchestration, it is better suited to the broadway stage, and so it is seen by the public as a musical.

Unless you're talking about Maury Yeston's "Phantom" which is a true musical as opposed to opera, and frankly I think much of his music and telling of the story is far more beautiful than Webber's. Sorry for getting off topic, I could talk about opera/musicals all day.

The "broadway stage" quote from your response is the key phrase. That's what makes "Phantom of the Opera" a musical and not an opera; intent of the composer. It was created for Broadway, not the Met.

Im sorry, but NOBODY needs to sing Queen song but Mercury, and since he's dead, I should never hear another person doing Queen, I just dont think his performance was all that great, but Im sure Constantine will not be in the bottom 3.

I would not have wanted to be Scott, doing that song in front of Hall and Oates, he sucked ass with the verses, but did do well with the chorus.

Anwar did one of my favorite songs, didnt care much for his arrangement, but with what he did, he sang it well.

Carrie killed that song, Im glad for her Pat wasnt in the audience.

Vonzell did a wonderful version of hers, but she doesnt sound amazing when she sings that low.

Nadia....didnt like it at all

Federov....I actually liked his performance this week

Bo....Im gonna love Bo no matter what he does, and while he did better this week, I'd rather have seen him do Tuesday's Gone as opposed to Freebird, but I was glad to see him do Skynard

cant decide on bottom three, but I think the bottom two will be Nadia and Scott

I agree.

If I had complete control over who was in the bottom three, I would stick Fedrov there in a heart beat. But since I don't have ultimate control over the universe (damn), I will guess that Anwar is the third. I think the tweenies will keep Antony out of the bottom three again this week.

She's pointless, so she doesn't bother me that much. What I couldn't understand last night was how wrong Randy was with almost every comment he made. He's too inconsistent to provide valuable insight to these contestants.

Also, why do the judges want everyone in this competition to go beyond their comfort zone, but the second Carrie steps outside of Country, they always go bat shit crazy?

Such is the nature of the industry, and that's the kind of directions the winner will receive as soon as his/her career takes off. The contestant who can figure out how to do that will have a guaranteed victory.

From the beginning I thought Carrie would win. Although she has never been my favorite, I still think she could be IT. She chose to do Pat Benetar last night in order to combat the comments she received last week, and she did well. Unfortunately, she can't dance any better than Kelly. She'll make the finals.

I think Bo is great. He's homegrown. He is already a star, whether he wins AI or not.

Since week two I have voted for one contestant only, and that is Constantine. The only way I can explain it is if I were going to "listen" to a CD I don't think I could listen to Carrie or Bo for an hour or so. I would not get tired of hearing Constantine's voice. Bo is a tremendous performer, but when I pick out songs on iTunes I'm not basing my choice on a video of the "performer." I click to hear a sample of their voice.

Okay I was really pissed that Federov was not in the bottom three tonight. He really should have just bowed out when he saw who was up there. He has to know he's not better than any of them, not even Scott. They should allow them to substitute themselves in these cases. After seeing the bottom three I definitely wanted Scott to go home..not before Federov but of the remaining I feel he's one of the least qualified to stay. But they picked Nadia . wtf?! I hate how they had to shit on her every week. Take if from a singer himself. They did not give her enough credit. Save for maybe 2 BAD performances she's been on the whole time. And she was different.

And I gotta say I'm as BIG a Freddy fan as anybody. He's my all time favorite vocalist. I thought Constantine did incredible period. There hasn't been anyone on the competition thus far that could ever even dream of pulling off that song. When I heard he sang it I immediately thought "No!" (I was gone yesterday) but my mom told me "No he did great you need to hear it." I can't sing ANYTHING by Freddy to save my life. Constantine owned every single performer that night. I really do think he's becoming the one to beat. He just keeps getting better and better and better. It's almost like he's pacing himself and letting it out a little bit at a time it's crazy.

Honestly, I thought Bo did pretty bad on Free Bird. He started out quite good but once the tempo picked up I immediately started comparing it to the greatness that is the original and it just was not up to par at all for me. I agree Tuesday's Gone would have been a better choice. I know it's not the same year but the Skynyrd song I really wanna hear someone tackle (Obviously Bo is the only one) is Simple Man. It's my favorite Skynyrd song. It's not as flashy or as difficult to sing as the other ones it's just so..damn..good. Powerful song it's an anthem. You can't help but sing along to it.

This really sucks . Nadia = 1 of my top 5 (Yeah thats right)
