i can't say for certain, but i think they did let the freddie guy through, although i don't know why. they kept saying how if they closed their eyes, they'd swear they were listening to freddie. i didn't feel that way at all.

as for fishnet girl, i didn't like her outfit, but thought her voice was decent.

WHAT?!! That guy was terrible! He didn't sound like Freddie at all! No one sounds like Freddie! I could sing Freddie better than that guy.

Ya know am I the only one that noticed that they let the fishnet girl in with 2 no 2 yes but yet sent the other guy who went there with his brother away again also with 2 no and 2 yes? What kinda bullshit is that? That poor guy actually could sing rather well. Certainly better than that farmer guy they let through the other day. He was better than fishnet girl too. Poor guy :(.

I was watching TV early yesterday evening and Entertainment Tonight was airing a segment regarding the contestants that are in the running for this season of American Idol. I have never held interest in this show until now.

Why? There is a young man who passed the first round of judging who had a tracheostomy. His has healed over, like mine. If he doesn't go far in the contest, at least they have brought some awareness to the medical procedure.

he could actually sing very well too...I think he deserved to pass the first round :)

about the 2 and 2, K-Wise... the one that got in on 2 and 2 included simon as one of the Yes votes. the one that didn't get in on the 2 and 2 included simon as one of the No votes. maybe his vote counts just a little bit more than the rest - at least that was my guess.

I thought he did sound like Freddie Mercury. I don't think he could fool anybody into believing he'd found some lost Freddie Mercury tapes, but he did sound like him enough to notice.

I got a feeling if makes it to the voting show..big if...he'll prolly try and sing that song with the music behind him and everything. Then we'll see how good he does. He's gotta be able to sing more than just We Are The Champions though if he wants to go very far.

They didn't let poor Audrey's voice stay in "My Fair Lady" singing "I Could Have Danced All Night".

Despite her best efforts, Hepburn lacked the necessary vocal range, so Marni Nixon was brought in to dub her songs. Hepburn's singing voice can still be heard during the parts of "Just You Wait" that are as much spoken as sung. Also dubbed was Jeremy Brett, who plays Eliza's suitor, Freddy Eynsford-Hill. Freddy's one song, "On the Street Where You Live," was performed by Bill Shirley.

Heh, I didn't even realise this is the same Jeremy Brett that goes on to play Sherlock Holmes.

Remember the guy who did that sang "I Believe in a Thing Called Love"? He was easily one of the top 5 people to ever appear on American Idol, but they put him on the gag reel because of the goofyness of the song. He sang it PERFECTLY. More talent than pretty much everyone on that show.

^ AHAHAHA I loved that. Thats the problem...even Justin sound ridiculous when he sings that song. Thats the appeal of it haha...it's what they were going for..was a bad choice to audition for.

are we still watching? how about that girl that was all upset that she didn't get through to the final 24 that she pushed the wrong elevator button and got off on the wrong floor when she tried to leave... and then she yelled at all of the other contestants waiting to see if they had gotten through. said she was nice to all of the other contestants and didn't understand why she didn't make it - what do those things have to do with each other? it's not like the other contestants had voted her out, right? crazy...

am still watching, although some of my favorite or most memorable characters got voted off, e.g. the woman who pawned her wedding ring, the phantom of the opera girl...

I think the Mario guys is gonna go far. He's great. I did not care for his rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody though :|. But other than that the dude sings really great. I also like that other guy who said his father had no faith in him. He has a really great voice. He'd better go far too.

Constantine thought he was good as gone because the other rocker made it through...funny guy doesn't he know that 2 rockers battling it out is more entertaining than just 1 against the rest of the American Idol team. I'm interested to see what he's gonna bring to the table too. I'm not particularly crazy about his voice but it's good to see another rocker.

You gotta love the stupidity of the people who think they can sing and actually are willing to show their bad talent on national tv. I applaud because it makes for great entertainment of the "mentally incapable to realize they can't sing" type people.

American Idol, along with many other WB shows, are my crack! It's addictive whether it;s because you love it or hate it.

None of them did anything spectacular tonight, but I'm rooting for that Andrew(?) Federov. We'll see what Ladies Night brings.

I think the guys out-sang the girls. Carrie has been one of my favorites from the early competition, and after watching tonight she is still way up there. But most of the rest were pretty boring. The guys are much more exciting to watch.

I missed the guys but I agree about the girls. A lot of it I've heard before again and again so thats dissapointing. Few good ones but other than that they were just "eh"

I was quite disappointed with Anwar's comments tonight before the results were announced. I really like him, and I voted for him.

Poor constatine prolly had to change his shorts after that little "psyche" Seacrest pulled. :lol:

Did he say something bad? I must've missed that because I thought he basically said "you never know til it's over".. But then again I tend to zone out when they are "blah blah blah"ing with the contestants.

I thought the first girl voted out was going to punch somebody. That was a mighty looong uncomfortable moment up there with her at first. However, I think her complaint was the best I'd heard, and one that has been voiced before in my household. She basically said that she was not given the same TV exposure during the first several weeks of the broadcast as some of the other finalists, and she didn't have the same opportunity to build up a fan base like they did.

Damn good point! I thought her singing sucked, but she had a damn good point.

At the time FOX was editing the tryout and Hollywood footage, they already knew who the 24 finalists would be, so it seems unfair to have given some finalists more exposure than others. She's right. I've watched every episode this season, and I'm seeing some of these finalists for the very first time this week.

^ See I don't really think it's a damn good point. Honestly she had all the exposure she freakin needed the night she performed. Think about last year when Latoya came out for her first performance and sang "All By Myself" She had even less exposure in the previous weeks than the first girl voted off last night and she brought the damn house down standing ovation and everything. Nobody recognized her I know I didn't and they even said "Wow it's like you came out of nowhere!" and then she was favored to win the competition. Thats the opportunity that girl had when she sang...and if she was really as good as Randy said (I don't value his opinion very much though) she did not show it that night.

See my problem with these singers is they take songs and make them harder than they are by trying to sing them with unecessary ammounts of vibrato, and r&b like runs. It's not necessary. She was a perfect example of trying too hard. Instead of just singing "Whenever you reach for meeeeeeee" She sang "Whenever you reee each for mee ee ee ee" and lost herself trying to sing it that way. Just sing it like it's sung! It's not like you have to change the song around cause it doesn't showcase a voice well enough. People do the same shit to the damn National Anthem all the damn time and that annoys me as well. Some people can just do that..it comes natural and they don't overdo it..and others it's painfully obvious that they're trying. On a show like that you can't afford to take that kind of risk..if she wanted to sing like that she should have picked a different song.
