Survivor All-Stars
Only one more day til Survivor starts again. Who's gonna watch? Who's your favorite? I hope Rupert does better this time. It's going to be interesting to see the strategies used, especially since they have all seen each other in the other episodes (assuming they watched them).

I'll watch.
I'll finally get to see the first two seasons' contestants in action, too. (Well, besides that cross-country Cannonball race on USA, that is.) /another Rupert fan

I can't wait. I saw an interview with Jeff Probst where he said that they definitely saved the biggest and best game twists for this season.

im somewhat suprised that in the all star show that sneaky little "johnny fairplay" didnt make it back to the show. im pretty sure with him on the island, it wouldve made it a little more interesting...
but i absolutely cant wait till the show tonight! i think my sleeper pick is rob c. from the amazon show. hes always doing something to try and win the game.

I stopped watching it halfway through the second Survivor. Maybe this one will get me started back on the show . I've always thought it'd be cool being on survivor though. With extreme optimism, it's a great way to lose weight! What's around to get you off track? :P

always wanted them to do an all stars survivor- should be fun to watch, since we've seen them all before. would have liked to have seen elizabeth and coleen, though i understand they passed. a few others (rodger, pascal, neleh, michael, greg, gretchen, well a lot of others i guess) would be interesting to see. My moneys on people like lex, rob c, tom and kathy, people who know how to play the game, have been close before, just need things to go their way to finish.

Damn, Richard cracks me up! "I could light that fire in a second.""But why should I?" He'll be gone soon.
Tina's the first off. Ethan's running scared. *wheeeeeee*

Let's be honest: Tina won because she rode the coattails of Colby. Is she the only constestant to ever do this? Of course not. Doesn't make it less true though. However, I agree that this was an error in judgement. Everyone let their emotions rather than rationality guide their decision making by siding with the insecure Jenna L.
P.S. Amber is hot!

I hope it gets more exciting. So far the best part about watching the show is cuddle time with my girls.

I loved it. The worst part about survivor was figuring out who was who in the beginning, and that's not a problem this time, because I recognize about 2/3 of the people from the beginning.
I want Colby to get a "Do over", and bet that Richard Hatch won't do so well when faced with competitors that understand the game. Has anyone read the spoilers on the internet? I looked at a couple, and hope they aren't right. Most correctly picked Tina as the 1st booty, but some others talked about Richard's supposed "Fire in the Hole" incident that didn't happen. I'm way too excited about this. |

Man I think it was actually a bad idea for Rupert to side with the backstabbers. I like that Ethan and Tina are testaments to the fact that good honest people CAN win, and Rupert should've known that they are good with their word. I think that Jenna chick shoulda been OUT. I'm mad at that... *smh*

I wish Rob from three series back was in it. You know the big loud guy who threw clay into the watter by his throat, then called him a hillbilly.

I want Lex to win this one. He got robbed in Africa. The last 2 (Ethan and I can't remember who the other person was) even said in the after show celebration that if it came between Lex and one of them, Lex was a shoe-in.
Go LEX!!! Also, I'm surprised that they didn't get that one guy who passed out in the fire back for a second chance. He defintely had a chance to win until that happened. Last edited by Kaos; 02-04-2004 at 08:37 PM.. |

I think CBS wants its Mojo back with the old people so I feel like an older contestant will win. Almost certain it will not be one of the young bunch. I would not be surprised at all to see Richard win again.

Boston Rob is awesome. He probably won't win because he's too loud-mouthed. But I love to hear him cracking on the other players.
I second the "Amber is hot" motion. She's the cutie of this season. I hope Jerry sticks by her keep-my-mouth-shut strategy, cuz that's just what I'd like her to do. She thinks everyone is drooling over her.

I want to know how Richard could conceivably think of himself as "the ultimate survivor", just because he won the first ever contest. In reality, he really could have won the easiest Survivor, since the rest of the contestants wouldn't have clue 1 about strategy yet. He'd better buckle up; the rest of the contestants this time around will have his bacon soon enough, fire or no fire.
Spoiler: 1 winner down, three to go. which will be next? /rant, editedbecauseihitsubmitreplytoogoddamnearly Last edited by kulrblind; 02-05-2004 at 11:39 AM.. |

Okay people - think about it.
Everyone knows the show is taped, and already is over, right? And corporations don't want losers as their spokesperson, right? And Colby's been shilling razors for a couple of months now, right? Survivor isn't as secretive as they'd have you believe - there was a news article about two weeks into the 1st season about Richard Hatch going to court as an abusive parent for starving his overweight son, and the article mentioned he had just won a $million on a TV show.

I know he won't win but, I just love Ruppert. Rudy is pretty awesome for being in his 70s, gotta respect that.
Jeff Probst was on a local radio show this week. When asked why Johnny Fairplay didn't make it to Allstars, he commented that Fairplay's persona hadn't popped by the time they cast Allstars. He said his personality ended up being hated toward the end of the show airing and by then, Allstarts had already begun taping. Total crap IMHO, as they had edited the show by then and knew darn well that he would end up as a 'love to hate' player. The next day, 'Fairplay' was on the same radio station. He said that Probst's story was fabricated and they had approached him to be on Allstars. He said no, of course. How could he top what he did in the Pearl Islands? |

Thing is, if Ethan had done as I suggested, and formed an alliance with Rupert and Rudy to vote one of the chicks off, then they could have maintained that alliance if they were to go to tribal council again. The next immunity challenge could very well be something non-physical. Besides, nobody can even say that Rudy cost them the immunity challenge, and they won the reward challenge.
Basically I think Ethan made a bad decision in terms of the best thing he could do to ensure his survival, which is to vote off Jenna. He probably was peeved about all the stuff that wasn't going his way (Tina being voted off, fucking up the challenge, not being able to catch fish) |
