It's fun to watch.. what can I say?

It's like a mix between basketball, hockey, and backyard fun.

Assuming this grows in popularity, do you think it could ever achieve professional sport status?

I don't think so... here are my reasons...
Right now, it doesn't take skill to play. While it's fun to watch, at the end of the day, you realize any young guy who is reasonably fit can jump on a tampoline and dunk a ball.
The risk of injury is crazy. You land funny ONE TIME and your whole ankle is gone. No more Slam Ball for you.
It's too much of a copy of major sports that it will always lack the credibility to become one.

never heard of it but buy the sounds of it could be a lot of fun to watch and play.

I do watch it occasionally when I am flipping around the various channels. The crazy dunks they make are pretty neat. As are some if the mid-air collisions they have.

Would make a great video game.

i dont dont think being on spike tv helps its popularity either.

Spike TV is one of the only channels i watch, because it has Slam Ball and MXC

My son and I watched this over the weekend, it is pretty darn awesome! I'd love to play like that. Yes, it will never get to a professional level like regular Basketball, but it's still fun to watch.

The first time I watched the show pictures of the video game NBA Jam appeared in my head. The show looks like loads of fun and it was great to see the creators of the game out there on the field playing as well. However like Halx said, one bad landing and your history... Slamball might not go the way of the XFL but it will never reach mainstream like Baseball, Basketball or Football. Now if only BASEketball was a real sport :)

well its already lasted longer than the XFL, and its got a pretty strong cult following, so it could be around for a while

I usually watch for a minute then get bored and flip to something else, however that's longer than I watch regular basketball for so gotta give it some points.

I never get to see it anymore...How are the Rumble doing this season??? They were my team from day one.
