How about the movie Nosferatu? It's what the flick Shadow of a vampire was based on. The original movie was pretty good, if you like german silent film that is...

Yup, like mentioned above, Innocent Blood was pretty good. Funny, sexy, and a little scary, too.

I also like a comedic vampire movie called "My Best Friend Is a Vampire".

Let's not forget "Vampire In Brooklyn". I quite liked it.

i just did an IMDB search on the film that I mentioned (Love At First Bite). there are two, one a 1950 3 Stooges flick and the other a 1979 vampire spoof. I meant the second:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079489/

very amusing back in the day

That was the same TV season they showed Profit. I loved those two shows, I was very upset when they cancelled. (maybe had more to do with the ridiculously hot woman )

Sort of on topic: has anyone else checked out the Van Helsing trailer? It's a vampire/werewolf/other scary shit movie starring Hugh Jackman. I think it looks pretty damn sweet.

Underworld....ehh, i thought it pretty much sucked, but i did watch it.

Queen of the Damned .. Good music but thats about it.

Interview with a Vampire...personally, i didn't find the plot very interesting, and i even found myself bored with it at times. Definately better than QotD or Underworld.

Blade - the first one was fun, the second was just kinda dumb.

I think we wil have THE best one coming out soon. VanHellsing looks to be badass. Specially since, in my opinion, pretty much all the vampire/werewolf movies so far have been on the whole - crap.

I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Kristy Swanson, I know it is cheesy but I always watch it if I see it on. For serious vampire movies I like Interview with a Vampire. The only werewolf movie I can remember seeing is the Teen Wolf thing with Michael J. Fox, and I love that movie also.

I really wish White Wolf would get with a good film company and make a movie, their aspects on Vampires and Werewolves look like they would be really cool on the big screen.

A Link to the new Van Helsing movie trailer for everyone:

I'm not all that big on Werewolf films...

As for Underworld... I agree with most here that the film was a mess. A very nice to look at mess but the story just missed the mark. After it was over I just kept saying, if only... A shame.

Van Helsing looks like it has tons of potential, but it also looks like one of those flics that could easily be complete crap, too. Although I was one of the few people in the country who didn't have a problem with League Of Extrordinary Gentlemen. Wasn't a great movie, but it didn't deserve the critical shit canning it got either. If Van Helsing has the same style, with maybe a little harder edge, it should be alright.

And for the record, Underworld was completely underwelming. It was pretty built up for so long, that when I actually saw it, I knew in the first few minutes that is was going to be extremely ordinary.

Buffy,
John Carpenter's Vampires
Fright Night
Shadow of the Vampire

To my shame, I haven't seen Lost Boys or Interview.

To my credit, I was at the Premier of Bram Stoker's Dracula.

I'm sorry, that movie sucked. And F.F. Copola is short. And wierd.

When I think of great vampire flicks I think of 2 things.

1. The Lost Boys.....Overall a kickass vampire movie. Good one-liners, nice gore, great soundtrack, the vampires look good, and its funny. Can't wait to see that special edition DVD that was mentioned earlier.

2. Just about EVERY Christopher Lee (Thats him over there in my avatar)/Hammer collaborations .

The Horror of Dracula
Dracula Prince of Darkness
Dracula Has Risen From The Grave
The Scars of Dracula
Dracula A.D.

Christopher Lee was the best Dracula EVER!

other good/decent/funny/good because they sucked (no pun intended) vampire movies:
Fright Night
Salem's Lot
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Once Bitten
Near Dark
Shadow of the Vampire
Nosferatu
Vampire Hunter D
Interview
Dracula 2000 (I'm embarrassed to say, but this fell into the decent category for me)
John Carpenter's Vampires
My Best Friend is a Vampire
Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I'm not a big fan of werewolf movies, there haven't been to many good ones that I can remember. But if you watch no other see Ginger Snaps. By far the best werewolf movie I've ever seen and it actually manages to be quite frightening. Plus it actually has multiple levels so it's not just some lame gore flick.

must agree with "Jim Kata" although beeing into "Christopher Lee" gives away our ages

Well Jonah, I'm only 27 but was lucky enough to have an uncle who thought that showing me Christopher Lee's Dracula movies at the tender age of 6 was a good idea...and you know what....it was!
well...my parents might disagree with that considering I spent many a nights sleeping in their room for quite some time after that.

I enjoyed parts of Underworld. It had so much potential! One of the things that underwhelmed me the most was Spoiler: the hybrid lycan-vampire. He just didn't really look like much to be afraid of. Hopefully if they do make a second flick, they can find a director that pics up the pace and story more.

The only two good parts in Underworld were when she jumps down the building. And when she walks into the house/mansion and they have that great ass shot.
