i like the premise... but i don't like the execution...

premise for those that don't know... it's a loose script and most of it is adlibbed during shooting.

Could someone explain it to me?
I'm really lazy right now, and I don't want
to go searching around the internet.
In fact, it would be nice if fuelmyfire helped
me out, because he is the one who
started the thread. Thanks.

The first time I saw the show, I was uncomfortable with the ad-libbing (at that time, maybe the actors were, too)

Now I've come to see Larry David's creativity, and can recognize him as the real genius behind Seinfeld.

Buddy of mine told me about it. Don't have HBO but saw it at a Hotel. Just didn't get it for the first 15 minutes. Laughing ass of for the last 15.

Anyone know if a DVD will be released?

Great show. The ad-libbing has to be done just right, because the stories are very circular.

Brilliant. I hope they plan on releasing the first season to DVD sometime soon. Mind of a Married Man is another great HBO comedy. The first season of it was incredible, the second season let me down though.

I love this show. It's on late at night once a week here in NZ. Very cool. I think i like it so much because it is so different, and almost daring. Very cool.

I love this show. HBO has been replaying most of the episodes this summer, they are hysterical. Just watched him trip Shaq at a Lakers game, everyone in LA hated him...

I like the one when Larry pisses someone off, then Cheryl gets upset with him, then he runs into the person her pissed off earlier, then he gets in a fight with Richard Lewis and at some point mentions how Richard's girlfriend hates him.

But Seriously, It is a great show... only problem is it always seems to be over too soon, they should make it an hour !

But in light of it being only a half hour, I love how most episodes reference other episodes !

Absolutely awesome show in the same vein as The Larry Sanders Show. Maybe not the best show ever but right near the top.

Larry David really gives me the impression that if you ran into him on the street, he would be just like he is on the show.

I'm with the rest of you who are waiting for a DVD set.

I don't get HBO, but they air it on Showtime here now, but i don't really watch TV too regularly.

The show is hillarious, and I'd love to have the first season on DVD.

For those of you with HBO, any ideas on which season they're in at the moment? I know it's been around for a little while now.

It seems to me that "Fawlty Towers" is probably the best show ever, but "Curb ..." is damn good. It reminds me of Fawlty Towers, actually, in that Larry David is completely willing to humiliate himself for the show,my wife finds both shows so embarassing, she can barely watch them, a mark of a good comedy in my mind.

I hate TV but the only show I will watch is Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry David is so anti-socially funny it's good to know that someone out there isn't trying to be loved by everyone.

I love that show. I haven't seen it in a while since I don't have HBO at home but I can't wait to get back to school so I can watch it. Things that happen on the show just seem so off-the-wall sometimes, its just hilarious.

Fantastic show......and so is the Mind of the Married Man (but I agree the second season wasn't nearly as good as the first).

This show is as painful as the BBC's "the Office" - probably the most uncomfortable thing to watch since Hank Kingsley...
