Robin Williams or Tom Hanks? I mean these guys are both great actors, they can be very funny and very touching. They have made some of my favorite movies and they have just had some amazing performances. It's so hard for me to decide who I like more, I would probably have to go with Robin Williams, but that could be because I just watched Good Will Hunting. Who do you like more, or hate the least, and why?

They're both extremely different - not sure I can compare. I think there's more Tom Hanks movies which I like than Robin Williams ones, though.

Williams IS the character where hanks Acts the character. I have to give it to hanks on a technicality. Both are very good at what they do.

I'm only comparing them because they are both great actors and they have had a similar career. They both started by doing comedies and then moved on to more dramatic roles, which ended up being where they shined the best(in my opinion at least).

OK, howzabout a comarison of them at their worst: Joe vs the Volcano or Popeye? Robin Williams is overall funnier, but, much as it pains me to say so, Tom Hanks is the better actor.

Bachelor Party (Played Himself), Big (played someone not unlike himself), Philadelphia (Nothing like himself), Forrest Gump (Something like George W. Bush).

I would have to say that Robin Williams is the better actor of the 2. I think that he's better just because of how funny he is. I still think that Tom Hanks is a very talented actor, but I'm a big fan of comedy films, so that's the only reason that I think that Williams is better.

For some reason, I am leaning towards Tom Hanks. I guess it is because there are more of his movies that I like.

I have to give it to Tom Hanks. Neither of these two are my favorite actors, but since they're the only choice, I'd have to say that Tom Hanks has done a better job proving himself in different roles, especially Forrest Gump.

Robin Williams is insanely talented, he's got some mad range. Anyone see him in that crazy movie where he dies and goes to hell? Or one hour photo? That movie sucked but he was awesome in it.

He has a much wider range, from Big, to When Harry Met Sally, to Saving Private Ryan, to Road to Peridition, to Forrest Gump.

All of those characters are so extremely different it's hard to believe one person played them all.

He wasn't in When Harry Met Sally. Also, lets not forget the movies Williams was in: Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, Awakenings, Hook, The Fisher King, Mrs. Doubtfire, Jack, Goodwill Hunting, The Birdcage, What Dreams May Come, One Hour Photo, and Insomnia. He has made you laugh, cry, and kinda freaked you out as si the photo guy(thats right, a rhyme. Not to mention his amazing standup ability. Don't get me wrong, I love them both, but I think Robin has a much bigger range.

Well, the real problem you're stumbling on is that Williams is an amazing character actor, while Hanks is not, and they are both fantastic personality actors, it ends up being like comparing apples to oranges.

but i have to give it to Williams, we character actors need to stick together.
