The way I understand it the 19 Group has first refusal on the top 5 (I think its the top 5 might be 4) if they pass on Adam then he can go to whomever he wants, but if they decide to keep him, he's stuck

19 Entertainment is more of a management group than a record company. In earlier seasons, Simon Cowell had first dibs on signing talent. He is affiliated with BMG. He lost that right when he settled a lawsuit with Simon Fuller (creator of the Idol franchise and head of 19 Entertainment). Cowell, the lawsuit suggested, had ripped off the Idol format with his British series X-Factor.

Fuller, signs many of the contestants to his management company and then gets them placed with the right label.

so, yes, I forgot to mention, I did take in the Drummondville / Oceanic gameand, as you said, yesterday Windsor Spitfires defeated The Oceanic in the tie-breaker! so, it was a good hockey night (watching Malkin get his hat trick in Pittsburgh as well). didn't have to watch any of the other television...

I think Adam is more talented, but I'd more likely buy a Kris record. Kris seems more likely to write his own songs, and could do well if he goes with a John Mayer/Jack Johnson/Ryan Adams vibe. You don't have to be an amazing singer if you've got great songs. Adam grew old to me after awhile.

I can't believe Kris won. He's so generic. I don't even remember his first half of the season because I kept confusing him with Matt Giraud. Even though Adam was a little theatrical, he took familiar songs and made them almost completely original and it worked. 0
