I got mine...

tickets to see Return of the King on wednesday, at 420pm est. the wife and I have been SO looking forward to this. I can hardly wait.

best part, by buying early, I was able to score the tix at matinee prices ($5.75 ea). whooohoo...I rule.

Cycler 12-14-2003 07:25 PM

Enjoy. I'll get out to see it next week. Soundls like it is just as strong as the others.

gnort 12-14-2003 09:23 PM

Have fun! Im coming back from school that day so hopefully I'll be able to get to the theater to buy advanced tix for that night.

>prays they wont sell out before i get there<

Fremen 12-14-2003 09:42 PM

Good for you guys. :)
I'm waiting for the special edition dvd to come out in the Fall of '04 before I see it, though.
By then I will have some kind of surround sound system put in, a larger t.v., and a good dvd player.
That way I won't have to put up with lousy theater crowds and sticky floors.

ah, but the sticky theater floors are the BEST part of any moviegoing experience.

Not if you need to exit fast and you leave a shoe behind. ;)

Hrothgar 12-14-2003 11:30 PM

At 420pm est hopefully it won't be too crowded and you can enjoy it.

Any why.. dare I ask.. would you have to leave in a hurry? :)

Cynthetiq 12-15-2003 08:05 AM

Fremen.... I have a whole system at home and I can tell you that some of the most minute details don't translate from a 30-40 foot screen to a 36" or even 60" screen. So there is something to be said for the theater experience, even if it's US$10/person to attend.

Otherwise, I do agree with you, there's some movies I'll watch at home in my own venue.

I am going Tuesday Night, err Wednesday morning. to the 12am showing with some pals. Should be a very good time. If i am not too tired in the morning i will post a full review.

Umm, a sudden LOTR fanboy war that breaks out over who's prettier, Arwen or Frodo. :p

Oh, I agree with you too, Cyn.
The ticket price is no hassle, or the floors really, for that matter, but we only have one cineplex around here and it hasn't been updated in years.
Put it all together and the overall experience isn't really worth it.

I got my tix for 4:20 on Wednesday (PM) I'm not that hardcore to get the midnight tickets, return to my bed at about 4 in the morning and get only a few hours sleep. I also got tix for this Friday.

Da Munk 12-15-2003 07:04 PM

I'm hardcore. I have tickets for the midnight showing and I have finals a few hours later.

streak_56 12-15-2003 07:18 PM

My parents are making me wait until the weekend but me and my bro are going to see it anyways. You can never miss a movie that big.

Lasereth 12-15-2003 07:29 PM

I just got my tickets through Fandango! Me and my girlfriend are seeing the 2:30 show. I can't wait!
