Oh man I hope you're telling the truth... I love Family Guy. And to the guy that thinks King of the Hill is funnier than it... WTH are you smoking?? My opinion, King of the Hill is one of the worst shows I've ever seen. It's like watching a real hick family... it's just... depressing. Not funny at all! But then again, opinions are like assholes...

Good deal I really liked the family guy and caught it regurally on Adult Swim, I hope it comes off as good as the original.

How can you possibly sell a TV show you cancelled so many years ago? Mention how you're going to have new episodes of the 7th best selling DVD set of all time. That will open a lot of wallets. Put it next to another high rating Fox show (say, before Simpsons and Bernie Mac) and you got yourself a money maker.

The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!" |

I haven't had a chance to watch much new Simpsons lately, but the episodes I have gotten to watch were still good. I think you've just started to take the show for granted.
I'm glad that Family Guy is coming back and that it's not going to be on cable. |

I used to be really skeptic of the Family Guy, being a Simpsons fan back when the episodes originally aired. Thankfully I bought the DVD sets and I can't believe how funny that show is. It falls in the same genre as The Simpsons but the two shows are different enough. I've been watching two or three episodes a day since I got the boxed sets and every episode has produced more laughter then I've ever seen in my life.
I can't wait for more. Its the perfect blend of high brow and low brow humor. Which is great, I don't care how smart I get some day, I never want to forget how funny "poo" is.

Family Guy will still remain my favorite show. I love the subtle humor. Sometimes there are parts that the initiated cannot enjoy because they are so obviously stupid, but that's the beauty of it. The more of a fan you are, the more you can get out of the show. As far as comparison to other shows.. I've always praised King of the Kill for it's writing quality, but it's a slower show with a different focus, it's not in the same category.

If this turns out to be false, I'm going to be a sad panda bear... I love the Family Guy, my roommate got a nice rip of all of the seasons, great shows. I loved the unaired episode that came cartoon network.

I ve been a family guy fan ever since the very first epsode. It is certainly good news that they are coming back.
Btw, why do people like King of the Hill? What's interesting about red neck phycology that drives people to watch a 20 min show about nearly nothing. One more question, do the poeple who like King of the Hill also like Friends?

People like King of the Hill because it's funny. It's not funny because they crack jokes every other line, it's funny because the characters are funny. It's fun to watch Hank freak out everytime Bobby does something he doesn't approve of. It's fun to watch Peggy try to help Hank with his personal problems when he would rather keep them bottled up. It's not slapstick or gag after gag. They don't exagerate to extremes to make situations funnier. As long as you're familiar with the characters, they don't have to.
And no, I can't stand Friends.

Family Guy is hilarious! I love that show, and I still haven't seen all of the episodes in syndication, but the ones that I have seen are amazing. It is the best comedic cartoon ever. There are times when I laugh so hard that it hurts, and it is the best feeling in the world. I look forward to 36 episodes more of this.

Family Guy is different from the other animated shows in that it's humor pushes the limit and is more controversial.
You defiantly have to be very cultured (or a TV freak) to get all of the jokes. Many times I will be watching and not get a joke since I don't know about the person they're making fun of.

I think it's very difficult to deny that when Family Guy is on, it's hilarious. When it's not, it can be painful. There are painful episodes. However, some episodes, and in my opinion the majority of episodes, are just hilarious the whole way through. I do agree with Lasereth though, in that some things that aren't meant to be funny get laughs for no reason whatsoever, just because of viewer ignorance. That's why it's generally better to watch alone.
My own opinion is that Family Guy is one of the best shows out there. When it's funny, it's by far the funniest show on television, and I'd like someone to show me a funnier one. I love the flashback sequences in the show, that's something no show has ever done, and it's brilliant. It's a perfect way to insert gags into the plot that normally wouldn't belong there. And 99% of the time, those gags are hilarious. Personally, however, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Sealab2021 are my favorite shows. Part of what I love about them is that I'm not flooded all the time with a billion people quoting them. They're much more select in their audience because they just don't fit many peoples' sense of humor. But when they do fit your sense of humor, it's like they were created for you, and I love that feeling in a show.

From what I've heard, they will come out with a new season January 2005. This is based on the DVD sales and the ratings of adult swim (they were beating out leno and letterman). I cannot wait.

I never really watched Family Guy until it was on Cartoon Network. Sadly, I missed a lot of great comedy. However, all is changed now that I got all three seasons on DVD for Christmas. I don't know how I lived without watching this show, it is simple hysterical.
I'm glad that the show is coming back with new episodes I'll have to pay more attention and watch it this time. |

I've been watching the Simpsons for the last few years just because I feel obligated to. It's kinda sad. I guess the writers started watching Family Guy in a story meeting to write that Halloween episode. I love Family Guy. Especially the Jew episode
