Family Guy was so refreshing when compared to all the other bland cartoons on. Simpson, which took a horrible turn for the worse and has shown no signs of getting better, and King of the HIll, while funny to some was just boring. The characters were so 2 dimensional... hardly funny at all...

I sincerely hope that they bring it back for another season or two at least, and I hope the writers dont sacrafice the original style in favour of crap.

I have a feeling that Family Guy will come back even more risky this time. Kind of like a "na na na na naaa naaa Kiss Our Ass, FOX" kind of way.

Don't worry, Fox'll fark it again. They'll move it about, put it at a bad time and then wonder why the ratings suck, only to see another surge in DVD sales. Rinse and repeat.

Defiantly kick ass this is one of the few series that I have always thought to be hilarious I like them and the Simpsons. So this is defiantly a good thing.

great news, but damn, keep it on adult swim or move it to comedy central. fox is gonna have them on a tight leash if it goes back to them. and besides, there's nothing better to put off an essay on than 11:00 showings of family guy.

I read a recent article with McFarlane where he said that he would rather the show play on a smaller network instead of Fox. He said it's virtually unheard of that a show will be cancelled and then picked up again on the same network.

..."working on two unnamed movies, one of which is a non-G-rated animated film..."

I haven't been keeping up with IMDB or anything, but could the "non G-rated animated film" possibly be a Family Guy movie?
If so, do you think it would be a good idea (ie. would it make money/is there a big enough audience that would enjoy it)?

I wouldn't recommend making a Family Guy movie at all. I am sure there are alot of people who would go see it just like me but I dont think it would do to well. I dont think the fan base is that big anymore.

if you don't think the fan base is that big you're kidding yourself... the dvd sales proved that. plus, movies are a chance to add to fanbases. look at hellboy... it doesn't have an enormous fanbase, no, but it's going to be a huge movie and is going to turn more people onto the comic.

I hope they don't ruin the show like the new Ren & Stimpy turned out.

I have to say, I don't really understand the King Of The Hill love. Sure, it's a more skillfully developed show, character-wise, with characters much deeper than any found on Family Guy, but they aren't particularly funny. As a comedy, it doesn't deliver often enough. And if it's at all meant to be something else in addition to comedy, it isn't very compelling about it.

Admittedly, I probably overrate Family Guy as I did The Oblongs. But it's an incredibly consistent comedy, and I've yet to see an embarassing episode (referring to a comment on page 1).

"How do I look?"
"Hmm, how should I put this...somewhere in an attic, there's a portrait of you getting prettier."
