Yes, but it would be very interesting to see what kind of roll they would give him in the new series. They've done a wonderful job with everything else. And given the current cluster fuck with the cylons, I think he could prove to be really interesting this time around.

NEWS!!

Arts Central here is finally (finally!) going to start airing Battlestar Galactica on May 13th. They will first air the mini-series, followed by season one... a few years late but bloody well about time.

I saw the mini series and season one before I left to live here and Lucifer sent me season two on DVD (bonus!!!)... It will be good to go back to beginning as it's been a while since I last watched an episode (I don't do bit torrent because it's antithetical to my chosen line of work).

No, wasnt' Lucifer's voice Dr. Smith from Lost in Space....

Last night's episode was interesting, but I hate when they leave you hanging. I'm still wondering where this is going however.

I'm most interested in the cylon civil war angle and the Starbuck searching for earth angle.

The four revealed cylons only marginally interest me, and the Baltar as Jesus angle is downright stupid.

I'm kinda disappointed that Roslyn didn't see Billy in her dream. Does that mean he's burning in hell?

Amen. This season began real strong, but the last few episodes preceding this one - while not bad - were clearly just arranging the pieces and setting the scenes for the major plot twists and big reveals.

And the scenes between Pres. Roslin and the lady dying of cancer were surprisingly touching, probably the saddest moment in the show since Billy died.

I have even worse news for you....

After Episode 10, they are not going to air the remaining episodes until 2009. Yes, that's right, at least 6 months from now.

Though they are now talking movies.....

Look, I love the idea of getting more BSG even in the form of movies.

But the back half of the season airing in 2009? This has got to stop. I'm really, really sick of waiting 8-12 months for the show to pick up again, and it is very cruel to the fans to make them wait such a long time. Every other show can manage to start new seasons without running a special to remind people what happened last season, since it last aired so long ago, and BSG shouldn't have to either!

True, I'm sure the strike screwed things up. But here's what we've experienced:

End of Season Three: March 25, 2007

Razor: November 24, 2007

Beginning of Season Four: April 4, 2008

End of First Half of Season Four: June 13, 2008

Expected Start of Second Half of Season Four: 2009

Assuming (best case scenario) that the back 10 episodes of Season Four begin in early January, the series finale will air somewhere in the last couple weeks of March 2009. That's two full years (late March, 2007 to late March, 2009) over which the last 20 episodes of BSG are distributed. That's just ridiculous.

If that article posted by kirk is accurate, and they are already in production for those last ten episodes - and the series finale will be shot in June - why should we be forced to wait five or more months after filming wraps to see them?

Personally, I feel like one of the greatest benefits of television, the weekly anticipation of new content, the ongoing narrative momentum, is completely lost when this much time expires between episodes and seasons.

By the way, at this point, it’s not known when those last 10 episodes of "Battlestar" will air. Informed sources say that a decision on that won’t get made until mid-summer, so my guess is that Sci Fi won’t the final 10 episodes until 2009.

I don't know what you would qualify as reputable, but this is the regular TV column for the Chicago Tribune, my hometown newspaper. I'd figure that's pretty reputable. Obviously, it doesn't mean it is true, but it certainly qualifies as reputable.

2009 would fit Sci-Fi Channel's M.O.

That said, keep in mind that while they may finish shooting in June, they will have all the editing and effects left to do.

They're also horrible shots. If you want to kill someone, shoot them in the head a few times, not the stomach! Not that the stomach isn't a terrible place to be shot, but clearly it is survivable (Adama). A couple holes through the brain would get the job done with much more certainty.

Hi fellow BSG fans. I have something to suggest.

Say BSG aired in the UK earlier than it did here. Let's also say there are scumbags in the UK who ripped said broadcast and offered it up to be downloaded via bittorrent.

Then you could watch Friday's BSG today, no?

But that'd never happen.

I'd watch Friday's episode regardless. The better BSG's ratings, the more likely Sci-Fi (and be extension NBC) is to let Ron have free reign in creating the show. Hopefully, he could get a bigger budget, less interference on questionable violence and/or sex, etc.

Great episode.

Couple things I am wondering:

1. Did the Six that Athena shot to death resurect?

2. How is Caprica Six pregnant? If Tigh is a cylon, how did he get her pregnant? cylon + cylon = sterile

3. What's the deal with the cat? Was the cat even there? The dead cat in the duffle bag had been dead "for weeks" I assume that the cat was an imagined cat.

We don't know how the final 5 are different. It could be possible, or it could be Baltar, or it could be option 3 (hint: it's me).

It was a decent episode, but there have certainly been better this season. Not every episode can kick ass though.

Re: Six being pregnant...you're all forgetting a very crucial point. When the cylons were trying to procreate, the reason they were never successful is because they lacked love. It's not that cylon + human can easily procreate, because they tried in vitro fertilization many times using a mixture of human and cylon parents. And it's not that cylon + cylon is always sterile. The reason Helo and Athena were able to procreate is because they loved each other. The same goes for Tyrol and Cally, and that what's so interesting now about Tigh and Six. Of course, a big part of the reason why he has feelings of love for her is because he's really confused and sometimes thinks she's Ellen.

1. Nope. All of the Cylons on that base ship were too far from the resurrection ship. That's why one of the Sharons told Cavill, "We're really killing them."

2. Good question. Lots of Cylon babies are popping out these days. Isn't the whole can't get pregnant thing what made Hera so special to begin with?

3. Maybe it's Schrödinger's Cat. I'm sure there's some hidden meaning in it. Maybe not. It's a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma, sorta like Romo Lampkin's mumblings.

And that's another can of worms...isn't she supposed to be in love with Baltar? Does she not love him anymore?

Cylon + cylon were sterile in the beginning because of love, which is where the Athena experiment came in.

Still, Tigh and Six would be a first in cylon + cylon, thus demonstrating that it IS just love (if we're assuming Tigh and Six love each other).

Right, in the beginning, cylons couldn't procreate with cylons because they did not love each other...they were relatively young as a robotic species, and still acted as a general collective rather than as individuals. They certainly hadn't learned the joy of genuine emotion yet. As we've seen over the years, the cylons are developing more and more into individuals (thus the collapse of their "plan" - though that's not to say someone else doesn't have a plan out there, which is my theory) and, one by one, they're gaining the capacity to love.

The point is, I don't think Six being pregnant has anything to do with the five being different from the other 7 (though they certainly are, it's just not important here).

The cat was definitely alive in Season 3 as it jumped out of the raptor just before Baltar's trial. As Tyrol was looking for the "fracking cat", he spied the bomb strapped to the underside of the raptor. Yet Lamkin said, "they killed my cat". Now either the cat is a metaphor for the loss of his family, or, some mob killed his cat.

As to the six being pregnant by Tigh, there is another angle....

What if Tigh isn't a cylon.

Or, if someone else has been playing hide the salami with Caprica Six.

I dunno.

The whole "without love" thing seems a little far reaching.

Too bad that Six died on the table. I find the Sixes very interesting (not just cause they're hot)

It is, to a certain extent. On the other hand, I think it's fairly established that there is some metaphysical power in the BSG universe, and that the journey the cylons and humans are on right now is somehow linked to that. So, I don't think it's unreasonable that something intangible like love is necessary for procreation in cylons.
