Movies you are ashamed to admit you like...

I saw a thread like this in the gaming section and thought it would be a perfect thread here too. I'm sure it's been done before, but the search engine has been disabled, and I need some attention. :)

Anywho, i gotta admit that Kong Pow is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I mean, come on, French Aliens, gofer chucks, stomach plugs?!?!?!? What is there not to like about this flick.

Kostya 12-01-2003 05:12 PM

It's true,

I liked Encino Man

AND

Breakdance II: Electric Boogaloo...

God I'm sick.

Chingal0 12-01-2003 06:11 PM

Night at the Roxbury

The Ladies Man

Deuce Bigelow

Scarface!

Batman976 12-01-2003 06:12 PM

Kazaam

Well, not really, but someone mentioned Shaq Fu in the video game thread, so I figured I'd give Shaq a nod here too.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Josie and the Pussycats is funny as hell. I also like Weekend at Bernies and various other bad movies.

Distraction 12-01-2003 06:29 PM

The Harry Potter movies...

Yeah I've got to admit that movie made me laugh too. No matter how unbelievably stupid it was, I still thought it was funny.

Wyodiver33 12-01-2003 07:17 PM

"Life, Or Something Like It" with Angelina Jolie. Looked like a silly chick flick, but I caught it on HBO and liked it a lot. (Don't tell anyone.)

t3m3st 12-01-2003 08:45 PM

XXX - Samuel L Jackson can't make a bad movie... sorry

Digimon: Diablomon Strikes Back

Kaos 12-01-2003 08:52 PM

People try to make me ashamed for liking The Cable Guy.

Nikilidstrom 12-01-2003 09:03 PM

thats ok, people try to make me ashamed for not liking it, go figure.

Winnipeg 12-01-2003 11:47 PM

My friends mock me for liking "So I married and ax Murderer!"

Can you beleive that - bastards, and yes, I have been to the opening of all the Star Trek Movies except for Nemesis. You see though I was like 2 when I went to the first one with my father.

And I have seen way too many B-grade Sci-Fi movies!!

Laladien 12-02-2003 12:26 AM

Oscar....

Not ONE person I know likes the movie and I'm never given the opportunity to see it...

I thought it was funny...

CSflim 12-02-2003 03:47 AM

We did this already, but I guess you are forgiven in the absence of a working search function! ;)

gnort 12-02-2003 05:54 AM

Night at the Roxbury and Biodome

everytime i watch biodome i keep questioning why im watching it, and that i should turn off the tv and go outside. But alas, i must sit through the whole movie.

Evil Milkman 12-02-2003 06:32 AM

I am simultaneously proud and ashamed to admit that I enjoy A Christmas Story. A lot.

:o

mattevil 12-02-2003 06:52 AM

i think christmas story has a pretty big fan base why else would they make figures and show it so much on christmas day?
anyways i guess my guilty pleasure are jason takes manhatten, white buffalo, red dawn, beastmaster, and Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. all except manhatten i think are awsome.

BigBlueWrecking 12-02-2003 07:02 AM

I loved Duece Bigalow, but so did all of my friends, so I am not ashamed of that.

For some reason I like some of these god awful high school sports movies. Varsity Blues comes to mind. So does Remember the Titans. Hoosiers I am not ashamed of, but the other two are pretty bad I think. (meaning bad that I like them)

Then again I loved Little Nicky...I thought it was really funny...

Plan9Senior 12-02-2003 11:50 AM

rider6061 12-03-2003 07:24 AM

I am proud to admit somewhat publicly that one of my favorite movies of all time is Flash Gordon! After all he did save everyone of us.

"For God's sake, strap yourselves in!"

jwoody 12-03-2003 08:00 AM

NWH: Fear of a Black Hat - The worst film I've seen ten times.

KnifeMissile 12-03-2003 11:05 AM

Despite myself, I enjoyed Bad Boys. The characters were interesting and played off each other very well and the musical score was great. I found it surprisingly funny and the action wasn't bad. I thought I'd hate a movie named after a bad Fox reality show...

bish 12-03-2003 12:45 PM

I don't know why, but I have to watch "The Sweetest Thing", with Christina Applegate and Cameron Diaz whenever it's on HBO.

portwineboy 12-03-2003 05:17 PM

Easy, The Wedding Singer.

I can't tell anyone how much I love this movie. Maybe it's the 80's thing, maybe it the music. Maybe it's Billy Idol. I don't know. I just love it.

ironchefkorea 12-03-2003 06:09 PM

The Big Hit

Not Another Teen Movie

it was a good movie. most people i know that don't like it don't know why they don't like it... i think they're just going along with popular opinion(not that you have to like the movie).

add to the list.... many many really dumb comedies.... nothing i'd buy on dvd but nothing i'd click away from....

^dude 12-04-2003 08:27 AM

Have you seen that Formula 51 or wtfever movie? It was um, quite shitty heh. Granted there are like a couple decent scenes, the bulk of the movie was just fuck, fuck, fuck .. then some talk about pills and such, then a gunshot or 2, then fuck, fuck, fuck!

Oh yea, Zoolander is great, as is So I Married An Axe Murder!

a_divine_martyr 12-04-2003 12:30 PM

The Land Before Time.

Nikilidstrom 12-04-2003 02:29 PM

not so much anymore, but i use to watch the Get Carter remake on a daily basis, and I still think its slick show. And the capoeira, Marc Dacascos flick, Only The Strong, never left my VCR back in the day.

RemyLebeau97 12-04-2003 03:16 PM

Blair Witch Project

Wild Wild West

8 Mile

The New Guy

todd311 12-04-2003 03:20 PM

'So I married an axe murderer' is a classic, "Head, Move" seriously, how can you not love it. I am a HUGE fan of MST3K. although I don't admit it much.

Thats Mystery Science Theatre 3000 on Saturday Mornings on Sci-Fi channel.

As stated above about Zoolander, you shouldn't be ashamed of liking The Big Hit, I think. Both movies have the problem that even though they were comedies, people still thought that meant they had to take themselves seriously.

Jam 12-07-2003 12:51 AM

i like all the newer mary kate and ashley olsen movies... the ones where there old enough to think there hot... but im so ashamed i havent watched them ever :P

djflish 12-07-2003 10:06 AM

The Phantom Menace

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

streak_56 12-09-2003 03:03 PM

Lets see Zoolander good movie nothing to worry about there. I don't know... I am ashamed of liking; The Land before Time (Loved it b/c I had it as a kid), The Claymation story of Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer (A Christmas Classic), Freddie vs. Jason (My friends hated it). Thats all I guess.
